We were sent to meet with the mayor of Hemlock, a small town of about 100 people two days outside the city. A sad man with an eyepatch, he tells us that a disease has stricken much of the town. Patients are befuddled within a day and then after a few days either die through misfortune or by suicide.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Multiple citizens have reported seeing a boar in the town square. Since then people have been getting very sick. Some people who live outside of town have gotten better, but the doctor and the baker in the town square both died.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Narumi recalled that pigs are associated with bringing sickness. They can also heal. We search the doctor and the baker’s places and find no clues. We speak to people outside of town – they all have a clean water source.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We inspect the well in the town and find hoofprints nearby and a yellowish substance inside the well. It’s a goo that runs down walls. We warn the mayor not to use the well and track the hoofprints to a nearby cave.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We encounter (and dispatch) several large rats and a few “Venus fly rats.” Further in the cave we see two giant lizards, a boar, and a few decomposing snakes. The boar gores Wrax, but Kasumi gets him back in the fight and he exacts his revenge.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We kill all the monsters – there’s something odd about them. The boar was leaking the same yellow goo – the cause of the problem was identified and dealt with.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Wrax is sickened by the encounter, but after two days back in town, he recovers completely.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Disorro barely remembers the time before [[The Collapse]]. He doesn&#039;t know if he was too young or just blocked it out. But he remembers the years since. Coming across survivors on the road, sneaking around danger, and finding allies in unlikely places. His time in [[Onadbyr]] has been reinvigorating - to have a a community to help out, and familiar places in which to rest. He is a (not too devoted) follower of [https://2e.aonprd.com/Deities.aspx?ID=5 Desna] and is almost always seen with his [https://2e.aonprd.com/Weapons.aspx?ID=44 starknife] as a reminder to help others and seek adventure.&lt;br /&gt;

Trade routes with Desperate Hope and other communities have been disrupted. Caravans are not entering the town. The goblinoid problem has expanded with the new source of income. We are tasked with going to the ambush site to clear it out and teach a lesson. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
About a half day out of town, we reach the ambush zone. There’s a downed tree blocking the road. As we approach it, I round a corner and see a goblin riding a hideous dog. Aleth darts down and fires an amazing crossbow shot, killing the goblin in one strike. Another dog darts out from the other side of the road. The ambush begins. A dog bites me, giving me goblin pox.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A goblin voice orders the start of the ambush.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chrys heals me, but the dogs keep giving me the pox – sometimes via bite and sometimes via shaking fleas at me. Aleth picks off another one and Dar strikes fear into ALL of them. Wrax stabs the leader in the back as he tries to flee. Chrys repeatedly keeps me alive and on my feet as we wipe out the ambush crew. We heal up and take positions, anticipating a second wave.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We hide in trees. An hour later, more come – dogs, bugbear assassins, soldiers, and another in the back. Dar hits all of them with a pressure zone, deafening them. Bees shoots the one in the back of the crowd, who shoots back at Aleth. The soldiers charge and the bugbear takes down Wrax. Taru gets him back on his feet. Bees takes out the leader with a series of hidden shots and Dar kills off the last one.&lt;br /&gt;
Wrax (who’d been made huge) shoves the log out of the road and we wait through the evening for another wave. It never comes. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We return to town with six living goblin prisoners and take them back to the city jail to face their fate.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

After joining a team that would scout for the Quillshot - it can apparently launch quills through trees - I find myself in a party with Damian and Aleth again, as well as new neighbors Luna, and Explosylva - owner of the local icecreamery. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We ride for a day in a borrowed wagon with Huntmaster Kjac to the small town of Rams Gate. From there it was a few hours&#039; walk to Revelation Rock.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Luna takes the lead, but we make slow progress along rocky outcroppings and cliffs. Aleth forages for us to stay nourished. Damien and Explosylva kept their eyes peeled and found a clue as to what we&#039;re looking for while I made sure our path was clear for a stealthy approach.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We continue on and Aleth finds food for the next day and comes back from foraging to find us smelling like we&#039;re missing something. The plants are attracted towards us too. She sprinkles some aether she found while foraging - it is soaked into everything here - and we blend in with the local smell again.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Luna leads us to a clearing and at the top of a nearby ridge - 40 feet up a sheer cliff - there&#039;s a cluster of glistening red flowers saturated with an excess of this... aether energy. We struggle to climb it, butAleth makes it to the flowers and extracts 2 samples worth of the aether before making it back down to us. As we look for a place to make camp, Damian spots something shining in the sunset – a 2.5-footlong crystalline spike sticking out of the ground. It is quite imbedded. It is one of the &amp;quot;porcupine spines&amp;quot; - nearby there&#039;s a hole through a tree that it likely sailed through.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Luna notices that the root of the spike has a small ball-shaped opaque area from which tiny vein-like structures extend. There is a liquid in the veins that hasn’t dried yet. This quill is only a few hours old. Damian suspects the shard – and the animal it came from – is in resonance with the ley line we’ve been told about in the area. Explosylva can tell this quill grows very quickly at first before slowing - we break off shards of the obsidian-like material and feel this Quillshard is a little more familiar than it was before we started our hunt. &lt;br /&gt;

A little further along our trek, Luna finds an underground burrow – it’s far too massive for a normal woodland critter. There’s three bushels of blue berry with wintergreen leaves and two silver puffball pods – very unusual flowers. Explosylva pokes her head into the burrow and sees the tunnel end in a broad chamber under the rootsof a large tree. No clues about the animal that made it and no recent signs of life. We bunk here for the night.&lt;br /&gt;

In the morning, we receive a message par avion - we must return. Another group lost a party member.&lt;br /&gt;

Jeremiah, a halfling in a horsedrawn cart is surprised our group is so large – funny, because so many of us are small. We meet him at 7am and ride through the countryside until supper. He sets up camp and makes us an adequate stew of unknown meat.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chrys offers to give me light for the duration we were down below and Mayel offers to be our guide, having been down thrice before. He warns of danger – slugs we should shoot from far away (this would prove too true), frogs that were hostile (we saw none of them), and spider webs but no spider. We absolutely did not see a single spider. We saw swarms.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
“Don’t be afraid to run away as soon as things start getting bad – things will get bad quickly,” he warns. We largely disregarded this advice.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We make our way down the tunnel – about a 10-minute walk. We reach a door, closed to the darkness below.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We enter the sunken ruins and make our way past areas already cleared, over a river (the bridge is in good shape) and hear a noise in the distance. Slugs?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Berta checks a few doors before finding it. It is bigger than me, but not by much.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We engage and another slug comes forth and hits me.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Berta charges in, heroically. She is ganged up on by a slug and a different, glowing GOLD slug. Berta falls! Draumir runs up and hastily creates an elixir of life, reviving Berta. Chrys heals her more. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Aleth downs a slug! But it EXPLODES in a plume of acid. Most of us dodge out of the way.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
On her feet again, Berta kills a slug! It also explodes!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Draumir notices that the golden slug is not very dexterous. Mayel takes advantage of that and shoots lightning at it. But the creature is immune to lightning!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The gold one takes big swings at Draumir and Aleth, but they both withstand it. Tuli tries to heal Aleth, but can’t. He shoots it with multiple arrow shots, leaving Chrys to heal Aleth.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Damien charges it, does something with his belt, and leaps with an exploding kick at the gold slug.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Draumir devises a mode of attack, lines up his shot, and kills the gold monster with no explosion of acid.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Heroic measures are taken to heal Berta. Draumir realizes he misplaced his healer’s tools so I sell him mine as they are of no use to me except for superstitious reasons.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I collect two vials of the goo from the gold slug. Each glows to a 10-foot radius.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A door in their room is locked. Tuli tries to pick the lock – but it’s rusted shut. Berta breaks it down. We find a book, some gold, and a large number of alchemy recipes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We check several other doors and find nothing. A locked door – Tuli can’t pick, but Berta again breaks it down. A storehouse bereft of stores. Tuli finds a secret door that leads to a cave in.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We loop back around to the south, along the river. We pass a large room full of spider webs.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Tulli grabs one of the fireflies to throw it in the webs. Several other fireflies take umbrage and swarm at him. Berta goes and grabs another (the first to attack Tulli). The first one escapes Tulli and flashes him, leaving him with impaired vision. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chrys convinces Berta to let the last one go and they flutter off.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Meanwhile, Draumir ignites the webs. A noise comes from within. A swarm of spiders emerges and attacks Stupid and Draumir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Two full-size spiders come out. NO! Three spiders come out. They surround and all try to bite me, to web me, but only one bites and one webs me up.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I’m unable to escape, but Tuli takes one of the spiders down and Draumir heals me up while Chrys shares my pain and gives me protection against the oncoming bites.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Berta takes out another of the 5-foot spiders and Tulli launches a barrage at the remaining one but misses.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Berta smashes the last of the swarm as Stupid bites the final spider in half.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We clear the immediate area and decide to leave. To rest up and return another time to continue searching the ruins.&lt;br /&gt;

We gathered up for what seemed to be a relatively simple mission, going into a dark, dank cave that was reported to be completely safe. We were given baskets with preserving runes on them, intending to keep the mudvines we collected within. It was an uneventful half-day&#039;s travel to the cave, outside of Ellie using some sort of magic to make music play the entire time.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When we arrived, we first noticed large, blood sucking creatures known aptly as Bloodseekers. They were dispatched with relative ease, but further down we spotted creatures bearing the resemblance of a bat with the head of a boar. The Grimples, as they were identified, proceeded to throw rocks at Disorro until a magical wall appeared to obscure us from them. It later turned out to be the magic of Ellie, which worked to our aid. The Grimples went around the wall, giving us time to finish off the Bloodseekers and await them on the other side. Unfortunately, as is becoming painfully common with expeditions I go on, these creatures were capable of projectile vomiting. Fortunately, it did little to Tuli and Berta other than disgust them. The Grimples appear to have been exceptionally good at hiding within the cavern walls, though it amounted to little.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Venturing further in, we began to see lit torches lining the walls. Some sort of bat-like creature met us at the entrance to the large, open cavern area, named Parmi. It was exceptionally friendly and offered us tea, brewed from some plants it had collected outside. I did not drink any of it, but for the others Parmi had apparently warmed the tea with its mind. It was using the mudvines to let its bat family sleep in a corner of the room; Some sort of compromise in the family, apparently. Regardless, it let me harvest the spare draping mudvines, so long as I left enough to accommodate the residents. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After some chatter with Parmi we finally departed with hopes of establishing an organized trade for the vines in the future, though it may only amount to someone stopping by to chat and clean up the drapery on occasion. On our way out we disposed of the corpses, as one should, but it came at the cost of the Grimples giving us lice. For once, I am grateful for my heritage.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Coming across survivors on the road, sneaking around danger, and finding allies in unlikely places. His time in [[Onadbyr]] has been reinvigorating - to have a a community to help out, and familiar places in which to rest. He is a (not too devoted) follower of [https://2e.aonprd.com/Deities.aspx?ID=5 Desna] and is almost always seen with his [https://2e.aonprd.com/Weapons.aspx?ID=44 starknife] as a reminder to help others and seek adventure.&lt;br /&gt;
