&lt;br /&gt;
We were sent to capture a gang of goblin thieves in Onadbyr. At the site, we found one goblin dancing around in a ruined structure with a torch, who was swiftly restrained by Damian and persuaded to surrender by Chrysanthemum.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The goblin explained the thieves were working for a strict bugbear overseer, who in turn works for a hobgoblin overboss, and that their organization offers poor employment benefits.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We fought a brief skirmish with five other goblins, subduing them without any serious injuries, ours or theirs. One sought to flee, unsuccessfully. After this, we moved on to the main compound. The fight at the compound went well, but ALOT attempted to subdue a sleeping goblin who was apart from the others and came in need of rescue. An effort from Chrys enabled ALOT to prevail at last and knock out the last of the thieves. Interrogations may reveal the location and identity of the overboss.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Aside from the bounties, we were left with a number of stolen oddities whose owners could not be located.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

We returned to the barrow where Collector Jericho led us last month. Inside, we found three blobs at the bottom in place of the previous one. They were easily destroyed, but at the cost of all the ammunition I had prepared.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Behind the door at the bottom, we explored a series of passages. At first, we found two sets of two pedestals containing gems that glowed when touched. There was no effect when we touched all four of them. We also discovered a wall of slime barring a passage and navigated around it.&lt;br /&gt;

We returned to the barrow where Collector Jericho led us last month. Inside, we found three blobs at the bottom in place of the previous one. They were easily destroyed, but at the cost of all the ammunition I had prepared.&lt;br /&gt;

So, we totally had to investigate a fire or something. So we met up with whoever was dishing it out, which I totally forgot their name but it was pretty bland I am sure. They told us there was a bunch of fires and we had to investigate the stadium or something. I wasn&#039;t really paying attention at this part. We were assigned a babysitter who was like a mask wearing person with a tail. Don&#039;t know, don&#039;t care. Anyway we traveled to the stadium and found a way in since it was boarded up but not decaying. Anyway we go down there and eventually find a light coming from a door. There was a little fireguy shooting fireballs at a little shotput. We tried talking to them but it didn&#039;t work out and they just left. Eventually something happens and our party splits one group going after the fire guys, me and the rat and that damien guy I guess. The other group went after like a wagon with people who ran when they saw us. It was a whole thing. We chased down the fire guys, there were two, who were in the process of burning a building down with glass. and stuff. Anyway we expertly destroy them without any complications of course. Since we are that cool. The other guys held up a bunch of children trying to sell icecream and stole the stone that was keeping their icecream cold. Honestly I think they&#039;re a buncha assholes for that but whatever. After that there were no fires for a week so we solved it. But they started happening again, so I guess they&#039;re back. Oh well. Good luck&lt;br /&gt;

We received a brief description; it seems he was striving for a way to stop the cataclysms and &amp;quot;on the verge of a breakthrough&amp;quot; (supposedly a common refrain from him) when contact was lost. We received supplies to deliver to him at his cabin.&lt;br /&gt;

Our journey into the mountains was uneventful. Conditions were remarkably cold, even for this time of year. We found the cabin damaged, the sole occupant dead next to his invention. We found a note from a previous occupant who had abandoned the inventor, but no signs anyone else had been present at his time of death.&lt;br /&gt;

It appeared Matthias was overwhelmed by the power of his own invention, or rather, the Shard of Divinity that powered it. Aleth soon became bored and frustrated attempting to rebuild her life all but alone on the outskirts of a ruined town where she wasn&#039;t appreciated, and began searching for alternatives. After following the traffic in and out of Onadbyr and eavesdropping on travellers for a few weeks, she walked into town, presenting herself as a skilled woodland explorer. She soon found herself engaged in exploring anything but forests as an Associate of the Round Table.&lt;br /&gt;

Met with Jericho, a Collector, and agreed to protect him as he sought out a stack of books and a particular body at a hidden site within two days travel.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The site was a small, non-descript hill, topped with a modest monolith. As we searched the hill, the monolith toppled and slid down the hillside, exposing a structure underneath.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
V and Terog located a door, which we levered open to reveal a staircase. Inside, we discovered monoliths bearing engravings of various occult and religious symbols and arcane runes, and a series of wooden platforms.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
At the bottom, there were four sarcophagi and a mechanism that would open them when runes on each platform were activated. After we activated the first, a sarcophagus opened, and earth mephits appeared at each platform. We dispatched the first wave with ease, but they continued to flood out from the runestones.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Despite how dispersed our crew was during the encounter, and although there were close calls when Echostar and Damian fell, with clear lines of sight, long-ranged healing and fighting was enough to prevent any casualties. In particular, I was able to provide covering fire to those who were otherwise alone.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Jericho was able to find the books he was seeking hidden in one of the sarcophagi. From the others, Terog obtained a Minor Healing Potion, and Damian a Hand of the Mage. The other the Associates left with 12 gp, 2 sp of miscellaneous loot.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Background: Before the Collapse, when Onadbyr was still a centre of industry, the port city consumed vast amounts of coal. Aleth&#039;s family was one of many in the nearby mountains whose livelihood came from feeding the city&#039;s endless demand for this resource. Being woodland elves, their contribution came from managing a rugged tract of boreal forest on the far side of a mountain lake from the local mining town to supplement the bituminous coal from the mines with sustainable charcoal, refined for the production of gunpowder. A restless youth, Aleth was less interested in taking over the family business than in hauling what they produced on their land to the succinctly-named Colton market. There, she learned how others made their fortunes, marvelled at wares from around the world, and dreamed of someday accumulating enough capital to strike out on her own. In the meantime, when not lugging charcoal bricks and other resources through rugged wilderness, she trained with the Colton militia.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Collapse somehow seemed to forget about Colton. The only curse to strike the town, its mines, or its forests - if one could call it that - was the loss of a market in Onadabyr. This was curse enough; without trade, the town&#039;s existence was hard to justify, and many of the most wealthy and powerful residents simply left. Those remaining had no trouble staying warm, and even managed to set up their own ironworks, but with no grain arriving, local fish stocks couldn&#039;t sustain the population, and nearly all of their food had to come from hunting expeditions - and underground farms, which the dwarves were unwilling to share. Theft and raiding became commonplace. Enraged by thieves and trespassers on her family&#039;s lands, young Aleth invested much into the pursuit of such criminals and even organized counter-raids.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The final blow came when the town somehow enraged the mountain spirits; fey creatures vulnerable to no weapons but for those made from cold-forged iron or sovereign steel. As a town with virtually unlimited fuel, relying almost exclusively on scrounged and recycled metals and mine tailings rather than new deposits, Colton was unable to effectively counter such threats. They came under siege, where spellcasters were targeted, first, before the militia were overwhelmed in a sudden assault. Aleth awoke from a magical sleep to find her hometown looted and in ruins, every entrance to the mines collapsed, and the other survivors there unwilling to trust her, perhaps believing her ineffectiveness during the battle and continued survival were the result of cowardice or collaboration with the enemy. She succeeded in clearing squatters out of her family&#039;s home, but from the ruins she could only gather the rest of her family had either fled or been taken as prisoners into the First World.&lt;br /&gt;

Aleth soon became bored and frustrated attempting to rebuild her life all but alone on the outskirts of a ruined town where she wasn&#039;t appreciated, and began searching for alternatives. After following the traffic in and out of Onadbyr and eavesdropping on travellers for a few weeks, she walked into town, presenting herself as a skilled woodland explorer. She soon found herself engaged in exploring anything but forests as an Associate of the Round Table.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
