			The two were tough opponents but the team was eventually able to overcome the foes and defeat them both with a series of coordinated attacks.
			Once defeated, the "'''SLAB'''" began glowing and instructed the group to either move forward or fight an even harder variant of the same fight. They chose to move forward.

			The next encounter was against a large fungal type plant and a Goliath Spider. This encounter was notably much more difficulty for the group.
			The spider was a particularly formidable force to be reckoned with, using paralyzing poison and entrapping webs to subdue its prey.
			The gang was barely able to win against the large spider but win they did. The "'''SLAB'''" instructed the group to either finish the test or face a more difficult version of the previous two fights.
			The group decided they would try fighting the large spider again, this time without the fungal plant monster. This would turnout to be a poor choice. The group did not succeed.

			Luckily, since this was only a simulation, the associates woke up healed up and unscathed. They were greeted by the enthusiastic head monk who was very impressed with their performance.

== Log ==
Our tale begins in Sellick Village, having traveled from Onadbyr to this small fishing town. Introductions were short—not long after we had arrived, a stout man approached us and asked if we were the Associates he had sought. After confirming our intent to help this crab-stricken village, he imparted more information on the current crustacean situation.

It was as follows:

About a fortnight ago, crabs had begun congregating upon the coast, amassing themselves in the hundreds upon hundreds. To the people of Sellick, it was delightful at first—easy prey to fuel their crab-catching endeavors. However, such fruitfulness was ill to last. As more and more crabs crawled upon the beaches, they began attacking anyone who came near, even beginning to fight amongst themselves.

However, our commissioner—Joseph Silverfish, his name was—and his lackeys had discovered a cave nearby that seemed to be drawing the crabs in. There was a noise emanating from it—it was described to us as music, which was, for some unknown reason, leading the crabs to partake in dance. Furthermore, some gargantuan crabs had convened around the cave, preventing anyone from coming near. So that is where we come in. It was our duty to find the cave, repel the crabs, and find a way to make them return from whence they came.

After being handed directions to the cave, we said our goodbyes and hurried along to the coast. Not one of our group could recall anything like the music as described, as we, admittedly, knew little about crabs. I, for one, know simply that seafood is not to my taste. This excursion has further proven my dislike for such things.

After some time walking along the beach, we crested a rise and came upon the wreckage of an old ship. Believing there to be something worth salvaging, we investigated the debris, but came up empty-handed. Everything, even the finest of silks, had long ago rotted away.

However, light steps are not a trait shared among all of our party. More preoccupied with the notion of ghosts haunting the wreckage than taking care to tread lightly, Moz and his ghastly brother riled up swarms of crabs. And what terrible nuisances they were! My rapier bounced off of their little shells as if it were nothing. The little beasts were agitated from being disturbed, and put up a lengthy skirmish. We, of course, emerged victorious in the end, however.

After spending some time resting up, we continued on our way along the shore. Soon enough, our cave lay in the distance, surrounded, as one might expect, by hundreds, if not thousands, of crabs.

Making out a sound emanating from the cave, it was indeed music of a sort. Certainly not… dignified… music however, for the crabs, as they danced, engaged in more of a rave than anything else.

There was a giant hermit crab with a fishing boat for a shell guarding the entrance to the cave, as well as some of its other smaller friends, so we began our encounter by staying at range and firing off spells and arrows alike to draw them away from the entrance. Despite the far larger size of the crabs than the ones we had encountered before, these proved little difficulty in comparison. My sword struck far cleaner through their shells, at the very least.

After dealing with the aggravated crabs, we made our way to the cave and inspected it. Our findings were rather bizarre—a strange apparatus had been planted within, of which we did not have much idea of what it could possibly be. Alfredo knew it to have some sort of magical component, at least, but the most effective way to get the music to stop would be to simply destroy the device.

And that is what we did indeed. Using the butt of my rapier’s hilt and some well-placed kicks, I made quick work of the machine, causing the music to sputter out and fall silent. In lieu of their dance disrupted, the remaining crabs looked around as if coming out of a daze, before scuttling back to the sea. Ensuring the musical device had been fully destroyed, we were able to recover some pieces that had been placed within, undoubtedly to power or amplify its crab-enticing effects.

Satisfied with the result—and with the newfound lack of crabs, on my part—we returned back to the village to report our findings and collect our payment.

== Log ==
We each arrived at the outer gates of Onadbyr, getting ready to set off for the Longbottom Apiary. The journey there went without issue—it took us about three days, but the road was well-traveled.

Eventually, the road opened up into a massive field of flowers, spreading as far as the eye could see. They were neatly manicured and being tended to, with only a few bees fluttering from plant to plant.

Very large, box-shaped buildings spotted the field, and directly in the center, off in the distance, was a large manor.

After a bit more walking, we arrived at the manor itself. There were no servants or workers about, so we went and knocked on the front door.

A very old halfling woman—no doubt Martha Longbottom—answered the door and beckoned us inside, before swinging around and waddling off with her cane.

As we followed her, we came to a large sitting room filled with plenty of furniture pieces. She bid us to sit down while she gathered tea and snacks from the kitchen, so we each found seats among the various armchairs and couches.

Martha soon returned with a platter of sweet snack cakes in one hand an a large pot of tea in the other, as she explained the situation to us.

Some bears had broken into the apiary and drove the queen into the forest, and her guards were still too riled up to allow anyone to come near. Our task was to subdue the guards and bring the queen bee—Beetrice—back, so the apiary could resume its honey production. Furthermore, we were tasked with not killing the bees, simply knocking them out so that we could retrieve the queen.

She then led us to a large porch connected to the sitting room, handing us two handheld smoker devices. She explained that they would calm down the bees and make them sluggish. Taking us over to a covered area, she showed us to a massive cart that she wanted to use to bring the queen back. Having finished our snacks and drinks—Egg especially having eaten ''quite'' a lot—we soon decided to set out towards the copse of trees where the queen and her guards resided.

Ken and I each took a smoker device as we headed out. As we approached the small grove, we were very quickly able to hear extremely loud buzzing, which led us to the group of bees in question. For the record, these were absolutely ''massive'' bees—the smallest were the size of Moz at the very least. In the center of their group was assuredly the queen, who stayed out of combat as we eventually took on her aggravated guards.
It was a tough fight, especially as we wanted to knock them unconscious without outright killing them. We took our own fair share of hits, but still managed to emerge victorious in the end.
Once the guard bees had been dealt with, Arkes approached the queen and assuaged her fears, so we could get her onto the cart safely and return back to Martha’s house. She relaxed further as we made our way without issue.

Once back at the manor, Martha threw a celebration of sorts, with plenty of sweets and drinks. She was very appreciative of our efforts, offering to treat our wounds and letting us stay the night as needed.

After resting up and collecting our payment, we began to make our way back to Onadbyr the next day, honey and extra snacks in tow.

The party met at the entrance to the mines North of Onadbyr. There we met Cyrus where he explained that their has been issues with the teleporter to the grove. He tasks us with finding the interference going on in the caves below. He also explains the stench that is now found at around 1000 ft below. He gives us the explosives and warns us of the dangers associated with them. He also mentions that we were there specifically to investigate and should retreat if we come across something we couldn't handle.

We then began our descent into the mine. After a while of descending, we finally came across the smell Cyrus mentioned to us beforehand. We continued to follow Cyrus's instructions, heading deeper into the mine until coming to collapsed part of the mine. We quickly passed through, but similar situations meant for slow going for the next 2 days before we finally arrived at the Chasms area of the mines. The smell continued to intensify every day as well.

During our descent, there was an eerie lack of any creatures or signs of habitation. Every sign we saw were months or years old at least. We encountered the vine of the plant that links to the grove. It seemed to have some kind of sickness so I got closer to inspect it. The vine was not dying, but clearly had an infection. A kind of mold seemed to be growing all along the vine.

We found that the mold could be washed away with water, but would require a lot of water to do so. Upon closer inspection, I found that the mold wasn't actually a fungus, but instead was some kind of creature, maybe a worm of some sort that seemed to be slowly eating the vine. Something like a massive version of bacteria were eating the vine.

After a few more days of travel downward, larger pieces of the vine began to be covered by these creatures and the smell grew stronger and stronger. We did our best to clean off these creatures as we descended. We still saw no signs of life besides the vine and the creatures all along it. As we got deeper the smell became much more of a rotten smell than higher up in the caves, as if something has gotten foul. Myself and Theo tested the creatures to see how they reacted to fire, cold, lightning, and acid as we descended. Acid and lightning, predictably killed the bacteria, but the acid interestingly created a nasty black smoke so it would not be recommended to use it. The cold produced no noticeable effects but the heat produce a positive effect on the mold, causing it to produce humidity and grow a little bit. Between myself and Theo, we deduced that the symptoms of this bacteria seem to resemble that of tuberculosis. Though it usually does not affect plants so we were a bit confused. WE proceeded to all don face masks from this point forward.

At this point, we had traveled for 7 days and were nearing the bottom of the cave system. Through a mix of spellcasting and ingenuity, we manage to reinforce a bridge to cross a chasm that we needed to cross. We then used some explosives to clear the way forward. Busiate had a little too fun doing so it seemed. Unfortunately, this created a massive shockwave of sound that echoed through the caves. The explosion cleared a large amount of rocks, but there was still more to clear. We also heard the sounds of digging we previously heard on the other side of the rocks intensify. We made a small opening in the last bit of the rock so we could communicate with whatever was on the other side of the tunnel. It turned out to be a group of Caligni. They appeared to be in a terrible state and as I tried to assist in heling them, they healing seemed to tear their own bodies apart until they died. On the other side of this tunnel cavern seemed to be a large collection of various plants and whatnot that might be related to it.

Lifeblood went into the cavern with some vials to try and take some samples for us to bring back to Cyrus. He reported later that the rock below was squishy to the touch, despite still being rock as confirmed by Hilda although she said that the feeling was confusing, as if the rocks themselves were diseased.

Lifeblood recovered some yellow mushrooms, some moss, some of the Caligni flesh, and some of the squishy rocks along with a few other items from the cave before retreating back out of it. We decided that this was beyond our capabilities and returned to the surface to report our findings to Cyrus.

While heading back out we needed to stop for 2 days temporarily to help cure egg of tuberculosis.

We continued our return to the surface, a bit behind the rest of the party but manage to leave without further incident.

We also passed off the samples we collected to Cyrus before returning to Onadbyr.

== Log ==
Our group of Associates set out from Onadbyr, returning to the sleep-cursed village I and some others once investigated. The journey there was uneventful—it took about five days, nonetheless, but the road was well-trodden. Planar activity and a fiendish presence were the main signs we were sent to look for, but what we found was far more bizarre.

Upon approaching the outer wall of the village, the silence was striking. The air shimmered with an iridescent, oily sheen, that despite clearly being magic, had no defined source. We thought it odd, but it was still safe to traverse the film, as the air we breathed seemed normal.

As we continue through the village, two creatures made themselves known to us, not caring to hide their presence. They were certainly fiendish, having attacked with unholy fire, but were put down easily enough.

As we recovered from the fight, we caught a glimpse of someone within the building we were next to—the largest house, staged in the center of the village. However, it was utterly dark within, with no light whatsoever making it through despite it being daytime.

We decided it was best to investigate the house, but as we stepped in, we ended up back outside the house. However, things were much different outside—for starters, it was nighttime, and we could see people milling about the village as if going about their everyday lives. King of Dance proclaimed it similar to experiences he had in the dream realm, but unusual nonetheless. He tried to get the attention of a villager, but they seemed to not quite *ignore* us, but rather not acknowledge our presence, as if they had a path they were set on following. Furthermore, we couldn’t make out any of the words they spoke—it was entirely gibberish. Houzen tried a similar method, but came up with the same result—the people here were not speaking coherently.

Returning our attention to the figure we saw from a window in the house, King of Dance surmised they were a young child, with blonde hair, about 7 years of age. DDOS searched for someone matching the description, and while the child we found had the correct features, the tone of their skin and color of their hair wasn’t quite right. The child, seemingly excited to pet a dog, went up to King of Dance, but we couldn’t understand anything they said either.

One of the adults came by to interrupt the child, grabbing them by the wrist before looking up in fear. Following their gaze, we witnessed history repeating itself; among the sky, we saw an eclipse, much like the one from four years ago now, as a grand bell tolled—certainly not one of mine—and Gorum fell to Achaekek. Shooting stars streaked across the night, while something fell down nearby.

The giant mantis made eye contact with us—all of us—before dissipating into smaller fragments. People screamed and ran in horror, as more creatures approached us.
These new enemies were no mere fiends. One of them, a humanoid man clad in red insectoid armor, approached without word. Upon our flanks two more creatures appeared—they were an inky black, with no visible eyes and large, bat-like wings. We were unable to identify what creatures these might be, but we do know the man was a Red Mantis assassin. He put up a good fight, I’ll give him that—nearly cost us King of Dance’s life. We, after a long and drawn-out battle, managed to emerge victorious, however. As we were recuperating after the fight, the people around us seemed to be… cheering us on? They were overjoyed and clapping happily, though we still could not understand what they were saying.

Afterwards, we tried to take in our surroundings to hopefully better understand what was going on. The village itself was idyllic— picturesque, even, as if it had been painted. However, the further one went and the closer one looked, the less details seemed to match up to reality. And the people we saw earlier… they too bore subtle changes in appearance, ever-shifting. It was as if whoever was piecing together their appearances was remembering them in the way an artist would. I don’t remember investigating any notable art the first time we came here, at least. Certainly no house belonging to a painter by trade.

The same child from before approached us soon after, beckoning us to go with them. We followed suit; we were taken into the child’s home, where they gestured for us to try to sleep. As we settled in, we found it oddly easy to fall into slumber, though our rest was short. We awoke immediately, soon noticing our own bodies asleep in the bedroom. We were outside of them, seemingly treading among the dream concretely. Furthermore, we could understand the child—and everyone else—now.

After asking them a few questions, we learn that such events happen fairly regularly—at least, the residents’ emotions and thoughts can bleed into the foundation of the dreamscape, causing certain events to occur. This was one such event, though usually, the assassin would simply kill all of the villagers—something that would have happened had we not intervened this time. They are trapped in an endless dream—a nightmare, even, should their fears come to fruition.
However, the child did not know anything about a possible source of the dream or reason for it happening, so we set off to find their parents. It didn’t take long, for despite the ever-changing appearances of the townsfolk, two in particular stuck out. A woman and a man, who were the child’s parents. They unfortunately did not know much either, but… they asked what year it was currently; we eventually concluded that it has been some months, about half a year, since this dream began. I had to break the news that… it was likely that everyone who inhabited this dream was now dead. I recognized many of the faces among the townsfolk as those we recovered and cremated not too long ago.

All except one. The man next to the mother, upon my questioning, seemed unable to speak. It was then, I realized, that this was Galen, the man who left this village and sought help in Onadbyr. To my knowledge, he is alive and well, so we figured this must be the memory of him that dwells within this dream.

His wife offered what information she could— namely, that the dreamscape used to be hazy, with its details being filled in as more and more people fell asleep. As they joined the dream, the environment became more substantial, though it’s obviously not perfect still. After asking about the painting-like quality of the dream, we were directed to the house of a painter. Bidding the parents farewell, we made our way over.

The painter himself was a normal fellow, as far as we could tell. He and King of Dance seemed to bond over artistry. He told us that, when people came to the dream, they brought their minds and memories with them. Everything is a faithful recreation, but little details are out of place due to differences in how they are remembered. As for the fact that everything looks as if it were painted, we believe that to be because of the painter, who likely has the most influence on the dream, though not necessarily because of a greater capacity than the others. He also mentioned that the state of the dream didn’t seem to change when we entered it. Perhaps it’s because we are outsiders to this village, or maybe because we had bodies to return to.

Also of note was the fact that nobody has been able to enter the large house in the middle of the village—the very same one we came from. Whoever the occupants of the house are haven’t left it, either, and any attempts to get in by any means end in failure.

We soon proceed to the house, the painter accompanying us. The door is easily opened, but what lay within was not a black threshold, but rather an impossibly large space. Inside that space was an immensely large silver gate, both extremely close and extremely far, but still somehow tangible. King of Dance stepped in, and upon touching the gate, disappeared. We soon followed, after which we immediately woke up in the state of being in between both dream and reality, unable to understand any of the residents once again.
We decided to try the pitch-black door, eventually finding ourselves in the waking world. King of Dance was last to leave the dream, carrying with him a small painting of the silver gate.

The bodies of the fiends we fought were still there as we had left them, but interestingly enough, there were signs of our run-in with the assassin. His weapons lay in the spot he had died in.

With not much else left to do, we gathered our bearings and recollected what information we could, before setting out back to Onadbyr, with more questions than answers in tow.
