== Background ==

Arkes hails from a northern land. With the latest apocalypse, her village and many others in the greater region were flattened [[Danse Macabre|by an army of undead, and their moving skeletal siege engine]]. Arkes was the only survivor, and had long fled the area by the time the associates arrived to wipe out the army. Along the way, she heard a rumor about a group of people banding together, to help one another survive the current on-goings, and to strike back against the forces of evil that plagued the lands of Kelek. She joined as many civilians did - as a Pillar, one of the non-combatant roles, aiding the few knights they could muster by acting as a scout and as a medic. Her righteousness burned bright, and being an active and able bodied individual, she began to train as a recruited Knight. One day, she may join one of the more dedicated wings of the Holdfast's chivalric orders, but for now, she is content to act as a training instructor for any new recruits. While acting as a Pillar, Arkes heard from [[Jade]] about the associates of Onadbyr, and how much good they do for the area, and that there may even be some associates who are sympathetic and join the cause. With that, Arkes took the short journey to Onadbyr to join the associates - much like with the knights, she now spends much of her time ensuring new associates survive their troubles, while trying not to cause too many problems for local societies or ecosystems.

== Skills ==

Arkes has a lot of talent. Her training has taught her how to overwhelm her opponents with the quantity of strikes, and with a level of finesse that allows her to attack non-lethally without taking any penalties. Her skills also reflect her time as a Pillar: she was valued as a Sentry for her perceptive qualities, as a Medic for her skill in patching up wounds, and as an Instructor for her skill at tossing foes to the ground. She's also an intelligent warrior, but her expertise is more geared towards identifying vile undead.
