The team arrives at the center of town. All party members arrive within the approved time excluding Sahona Bright-eyed who was late. The party met with Jean, the assistant of Alice Hedgewyn. The owner of Hedgewyn Brewery, an apothecary that has been providing care for farmers and hunters in the area outside of Onadbyr for the past few years.

Jean presents as a coward, speaking praises of the Alice woman but otherwise afraid of most other things. He states the two are in an agreement where he works without pay willingly but stays at the residence as her servant.

The party returns the roots to Alice who prepares the solution and offers healing for the party.

The party drinks the solution alongside Jean as we enter the dream in search of Caroline. In the dream we awake prone, a looming humanoid-presenting young woman in a red cloak covered in thorns dripping with blood. She is armed with a greatsword and warns that we should not have come here as she immediately strikes and kills Jean. The woman's presence summons more plants, and seems to be acting as a guardian for the current realm. The party enters into another fight with her. During this encounter she continues to announce that our presence here is intrusive and she is protecting something.

The fight is successful, Sutton claims the final blow but chooses to strike non-lethal. However as the last of the plants are killed, the thorn woman fades and the dream ends. Once awake, Jean is dead and Caroline has yet to wake. Alice appears distraught. The party will be required to return in order to likely deal with the other three graves.

The party is rewarded with a Rooting rune, Thorn triad, scroll of murderous vine, scroll of wall of thorns, mistform elixir 2x, healing potion (moderate) 6x, numbing tonic (moderate) 6x. The party has agreed to return and continue to aid Alice in waking her sister.
