Maki was born in "The Old Country". While the lands of the Old Country are mostly flat. Especially so in the South. In the north there is a large set of looming mountains that most travelers and local towns avoid. While the Old Country has historically been more peaceful then some regions.. most of the towns nearing the mountains are patrolled and the towns walled. For what dwells in the mountains are the dreaded Oni. Marauding tribes of Human/Oni frequently march and raid the food rich south. However when the land began experiencing drought and famine, even the barbarian tribes had to flee their mountain homes. | |||
