Log
Herein you will find the personal musing and observances of the Lord of Carnage, long may they rest ‘fore the call reaches them again. T’was the 27th eve of the second month of winter, and the solstice had passed without complication. The chassis I now find myself in requires daily periods of recuperation, much like Voml’s did. I have chosen to use these periods to organize my hundreds of years of memories. My latest life seems the most important to many of the situations I find myself in, so I shall cull the previous ones more harshly.
It was during one of these moments that a great ruckus encompassed the guild hall. I went downstairs to find that Hiromi and Satori were moving towards the entrance to the basement, while Zeal and Bright Eyes had run ahead. Berta and Stupid were entering the main hall as I moved forward to the sounds of combat. The two training dummies Sade had brought home from the city of the dead were Graveknight armors, fiercely powerful spirits inhabiting cursed armor sets that reform after being disrupted. The armors had attacked Sade, and Bright eyes had run in to save him. The Graveknights were powerful opponents who shrugged off my blows, and their presence dampened the effects of positive magic, making my already limited powers weaker.
The first knight was surrounded by Satori and Zeal, and brought down after a mighty struggle. The second knight followed the first up, striking down Berta as it went. She survived, and with a few tactical moves from Satori, and the powerful magics of Hiromi, the second night was brought down as well. We found Sade downstairs, unconscious, but alive, but it seems that in the fight Bright Eyes passed away. Voml roared like no creature I had ever heard before, and his anger was great enough that I felt afeared of him taking control, and acting rashly.
Satori bound the knights while I fetched an orderly of the council. I turned the armor over to the round table council, as we could not prevent it from rising again, and they may be able to. I could barely think from the howling in my mind as all my past selves clamored for violence and revenge, but it would not do. Sade is a fierce warrior, and killing him for the death of King Gareth would be foolish, even if I was capable of such a thing, which I am not.
The armors can be destroyed by bringing them to the positive energy plane, an impossible task, or immersing them fully in an active volcano, a slightly less impossible, but still untenable, task. I know of one volcano in the region, as this chassis was born from its fires, but the mountain is three months travel, and that would be nigh impossible to complete with the armors in tow. Satori mentioned a second volcano, but I have not yet found mention of it in the logs and archives, I shall have to inquire more thoroughly.
The graveknights are under constant guard by the round table, and for the first time since our arrival, the doors of Clan Ashenforge are closed.
