As we approached the opening, we could hear some ominous music coming from deeper in the cave. As we slowly made our way down in pitch darkness, Jemerov’s magical orchestra as well as the sound of his instrument was slowly getting silenced by the music getting louder as we continued onward. After a few minutes of walking, as the ground started to level itself, the scent of aged wood hit Luna’s nose. The closer they got the stronger the smell became but the team also started to hear painful squawking that sounded like it was coming from behind a wall. As the group listened for a little longer, they could pick up the noise of people talking and metal clinking. A creaking door was suddenly opened and a group of people started laughing and walking towards the group, poking them with sharp objects while . One of the individuals blurred out something about surface dwellers being lost looking for something in this dark cave. Luckily, Aleth and Amani were able to understand what the duergar was saying and replied that they were looking for Lady Sielu. As the name was spoken, a voice could be heard asking “someone is looking for Sielu?” to which Sutton replied that they were here on behalf of Absinthe concerning a payment due. Pleased with the answer, the party was invited in for a drink and was served a cup of Absinthe, a star-anisey concoction with some fruity notes, a drink provided by Absinthe herself. The tavern was pretty noisy, there were people on the right side that were laughing loudly while you could hear a creature on the left yelping. Once we all had our glass, Sutton gave Lady Sielu the money pouch worth 50gp entrusted to them by Absinthe. After counting the money, Lady Sielu informed the group that she was missing 10gp for the payment to be completed. Sutton offered to give the missing amount but Luna was faster and handed over the remaining 10gp. As the transaction was finishing, a fireball suddenly erupted in the middle of the room, shining bright light in the tavern for only a moment but it was a moment too long for Lady Sielu. Hissing back and covering her eyes with her long claw-like fingers, Lady Sielu fired 6 magic missiles towards a goblin that had brought in the imp that casted the firebolt before escaping out the door. During the flash, Amani was able to notice that Lady Sielu had organized her coins in perfect stacks of 6s and 8s. As Lady Sielu was recomposing herself, Sutton took the time to complement her dress that had caught her eye when the room was illuminated and made an inquiry about the pattern of it. Lady Sielu explained that it was a secret and that this secret was locked behind a puzzle in the backroom of 8 jars that when broken would reveal the location of her secret stash. As Lady Sielu excused herself to go deal with the imp, she expressly forbid the party to not go to the UNLOCKED backroom that was UNGUARDED and UNTRAPPED, where she DIDN’T HAVE TIME TO SET UP AN ALARM yet. On her way out, she also dropped her keys at the front door but said out loud that she would pick them up on her way back. This left the party fairly perplexed. Sutton was tempted by the chance of getting her hands on a new pattern but at the end of the day, they decided to stay honest and the party returned to town where they learned that the payment was actually only 40gp and not 60gp. After some apologies, Absinthe was nice enough to refund Luna the 10gp she had lost on top of giving out the promised potions. | As we approached the opening, we could hear some ominous music coming from deeper in the cave. Deliver Absinthe’s payment to Lady Sielu at the Spirit Bottle Tavern
Log
After seeing an ad posted by the Local apothecary Absinthe on the notice board, a group of people gathered at the Onsen for more information. Absinthe explained that during an outing, she had injured her back which made it very hard for her to travel. Worried about supplies running low as well as possible interest on late payments, she requested that we deliver a 50gp to the Spirit Bottle Tavern’s owner, Lady Sielu. We were warned that being sensitive to light, her tavern attracted a certain group of creatures that felt comfortable in dark places. The directions were simple: Follow the glowing bottles to the entrance of a cave in which the establishment was located. Absinthe offered as reward 4 potions from her inventory to each adventurer and with that, the group headed out. After some time, the group started noticing little white lights scattered throughout a path. Upon closer inspection, there was a small glowing glass rock inside each little bottle attached to fence posts that advertised the Spirit Bottle. The lights did in fact lead the party to the entrance of a cave.
