Log

Right, so, this one's a bit of a doozy to explain. So we were told "Hey, go check out what the Holdfasts are dealing with, apparently some invisible stuff is attacking them!" and like, that sounds pretty urgent, so we headed out immediately. Took a couple of days to get there, and things looked fine but ya know how it is with invisible monsters. We went and found MOCK, this big orb-ish automaton, and with some talking back and forth we figured out a few things. Big one were that they actually just sent the letter that day, so funky time magic sounded like it was going on, and that plus invisible creatures meant hounds of Tindalos! Funky time dogs that hunt down and kill people that fuck with the time stream, which was weird because MOCK said nobody there did time magic at all. Anyway the dogs were addicted to right angles so we could kill them a lot easier if we didn't let them touch walls or something. Weird, but doable!

Heading into the manor, yup, those were invisible dog things that stopped being invisible when they wanted to kill you. Apparently there was also some wisp thing on the first floor, but I didn't see it. I did a sick dodge over a dark-shrouded dog's head on pure instinct though! These could be fun to have around if they help me put on shows like that. Anyway, Atticus was a super big help here I gotta say. Guy had some crazy instincts and was just chopping stuff down left and right, like he could see right through their invisibility nonsense. (I know he couldn't though, he did a lot of running against walls to find dogs)

Second floor, we found some more dogs and what I can only assume was a centaur of Tindalos? It was like one of the dogs but with a person torso and hands and stuff. It's a lot harder to deal with I gotta admit, but we wipe 'em out and start exploring. Atticus finds some dude named Cass tied up to a chair in the middle of a side room (with a suspicious balcony) and the Hellknight does his thing of interrogating. I wasn't paying a ton of attention but far as I remember, some super plain looking human dude gave this person and their crew some watches that made their time magic way more powerful. In exchange he wanted them to go do this time magic bubble thing to the Holdfasts, which apparently they did, but he got betrayed, knocked out, and left here as bait? Guess the hounds were after his ass, but we were gonna get him outta there. Probably straight into another prison, but I'm sure the hellknights could handle a hound or two if they showed up. That Desperate Hope place is full of killers according to Uloth. Anyway I dug around the guy's pockets real quick and didn't find anything (I think I'm just stupid, he had stuff) but Boophis spotted a rune trap on the guy's back. No stranger to messing with traps, I disabled it pretty easy. If my intuition was right, I think it was a disintegrate spell. For me or Cass, I dunno, but nobody was getting disintegrated on my watch!

Anyway we heard some screaming from the nearby people outside, so thanks to my wind magic we all flew off the balcony to see what was going on (And Cass stayed kinda tied up, didn't want him to attack us if this was some kinda trick ya know?) and we ran into two assassin-looking fiends and some sorta assassin-bot. The assassins were Uniila apparently, a type of devil I think? No idea what the assassin-bot was about though. It did say "Now perish" in diabolic and Cass exploded into some shadow snake things though, so that was cool. We fought the fiends though, killing the Uniila but not being able to pinpoint the assassin-bot well enough to stop it before it escaped. Atticus knocked off a piece of it that looked like some valuable metal though, so I think the others are gonna look for someone to track that so we can scrap it for parts or something? It did kill someone, so I guess that's fair play. Anyway I found a time watch on Cass's body and I'm gonna keep it, I think there's some fun possibilities here.

Oh right, Cass said during the interrogation the bubble would probably go away in a couple of weeks? So the time should un-fuck itself in a bit, and they'll just feel a bit sick when time catches up to them inside. Real question I have is why they wanted to try and flush out the Holdfasts, I don't think they really got anything done there? At least I hope not.
