The four of us met in the meeting room and spoke to an Orc named Gral. He informed us that the mayor of a town called Fellwood needed aid in finding his lost daughter. We were to be given more info at the mayors home, but for now Gral and his men would be taking us to the town by wagon. We packed up, prepared supplies and set off. The trip was quite peaceful. A quaint town to say the least. As far as I could tell all the important buildings were there. Though I'm not much of a city dweller so my view could be skewed. Regardless, we arrived soon at town hall and the mayor's house. We bid Gral farewell. A friendly sort. I decided to be charitable and give him a peach as a thank you. He didn't say anything, but he did wave and take a bite. I could tell it was a good one, for my knowledge of peaches is extensive. But I digress. The mayor was a large man, important looking clothes and also seemed to suffer from three ailment I am familiar with. "Craving eyes", "Fuming ears", and "Hubris nose". Greedy, angry, and stuck up. He came in with a posh anger at the presence of us interrupting his day. To be honest he didn't even looked concerned about his daughter. Just annoyed. Regardless, he gave us the info and where to begin, so we started looking around. We asked guards and gardeners and got some pretty useful info. I even thought to grab something from the daughter's room for tracking purposes. We got what we needed and went to town to get more info before giving egg the hairbrush I borrowed from the room. A couple hours later, Egg led us to a cabin in the woods. When checking inside, there the daughter was, sipping tea. I checked it but no cellars. She had mentioned one earlier and I was morbidly curious. As Raiya and Arkes decided to take one for the team, I was able to find said cellar in the kitchen. What I saw was a gruesome sight. A den of blood, sinew, and skin. Specifically what looked like skin suits. I checked the skin suits and noticed that some of them matched descriptions of other women that disappeared in town. I was reminded of the story of the Great Sage fighting a creature that took the guise of a helpless woman to lure victims to its den and devour them. I rushed back to the bedroom and was relieved that nothing had happened yet. When I showed the skin suit I grabbed to the group, the fiend's facade turned to blood lust. Couldn't get a swing in. But hey, a wise man once told me, it is what it is. The hag fought back ferociously using fire spells. Luckily, we had the element of surprise and greater numbers. It was a struggle but in the end we triumphed. I even managed to push the hag's button before she fell. Sadly, the daughter was no more. After our report, we promptly returned to Onadbyr. Another expedition completed. While I am sad about the daughter and other victims of the hag, reflecting on the positive is just as important. Spring 233 Xth Day of the Xth Month
Today's tale: The Lady in the Woods in the Cabin in the Woods. Or, The Troupe, the Cabin, and the Hag.
Note to self, may need to workshop that.
Twas a calming day in Onadbyr. Clear sky, calm winds, a beautiful day in Onadbyr.
I was summoned along with four other associates to partake in a unique expedition. The other associates were a half elf member of the Holdfasts. A ranger by the name of Arkes. With here was a large man who looked as if he came from the abyss just that day. Arkes said his name was Lifeblood, who could not speak for himself since he is still learning the common language I suppose. Despite his menacing appearance, he seemed to half good intentions. Finally there was Raiya and her trusted companion, egg, who I have had the pleasure of working with before during that fight against the armies of that one harbinger type I spoke too after we killed his strange metal flesh golem.
No forest dwelling creatures tried to attack us, just some boars, rabbits and what not. I did get some time in to swing around some trees and get the blood pumping. Hard to do as much in town, so I take my chances when they are available. After two or three days, don't really remember, we finally arrived in Fellwood.
We entered the mayor's home and where immediately greeted by him. The house is fancier than most I have seen. Had I not taken my oath to the Onadbyr top brass, I can't say I wouldn't have made off with a new trinket or two. Rich guy like that surely wouldn't miss most of this extravagant stuff laying around. Besides the guy was a bit of a jackass, so I think it would of been justified.
