Absinthe, one of the Associates of the Round Table, was born into the Hiroaki clan in what was once Tatekami Village from the Old Country. Clan Hiroaki was an oddity among the Kitsune, they believed the existence of a limited well of souls to draw from. When one dies and another is born in a manner very similar to reincarnation; albeit into a new body. This has led the clan to uphold strange positions with caretakers and scholars dedicated to studying newborns to see which soul they were born with. Now when dealing with matters of the soul. Their scholars believe that while the soul is immortal. They also believe that each vessel imparts new experiences onto the soul. Creating a new person with each incarnation.

Absinthe was one of these caretakers. When the drought came, bringing pestilence and despair with it, Absinthe did all she could to protect those of the Hiroaki clan with her salves and potions. She persisted until the onset of war. A civil war that brought ruin to her clan and country. The well of souls was filling and could not be drawn from in these times. She gathered alongside others and fled with other Kitsune into western lands, hopefully to avoid the fighting and famine. Hoping to rebuild clan Hiroaki and drain the well again.
