Dear Round Table Council,
I would like to bring to your attention the atrocity that calls itself the Burnt Leaf Festival. I have viewed from afar the shenanigans that the ne'er-do-wells have partaken, and I must ask for swift actions to be taken against all who have partaken in said event. Yesterday’s events give a bad reputation to all residents of Onadbyr and may hurt any diplomatic relations with other settlements if word of these events spread.
I understand the historical importance behind The Burnt Lead festival, and I am well aware that we must continue to spread awareness of the plant that caused the Calamity of Shattered Memories. I am also aware that there are plenty of medical benefits that come with the use of the Burnt Leaf. These are not an issue for me, what is an issue is the recent deviations from the proper festival that has taken place in the recent years, culminating in the events of yesterday's huge disaster.
By now, I’m sure you’re well aware of the extremely reckless use of the Burnt Leaf during the festival. I might be a bit old fashioned with my views on the Burnt Leaf, but I think you’d agree with me that the casual use of such a dangerous substance in a district full of children may leave a negative impact on a child’s development. Additionally, all of the children that witnessed yesterday’s event may now pick up the harmful habit now that they witnessed Associates partake in the events. We all know how influential some of your Associates are, and most children look up to them. Now that children have seen Associates partaking in the Burnt Leaf in a casual manner, we surely will lose some of them to the addictive effects of that evil plant.
If it was just the use of the Burnt Leaf in public spaces, I wouldn’t be writing this letter. I’m sure we all know that isn’t the case though. As we all know, food shortages have become a huge concern for our settlement. I understand that we all can indulge ourselves every now and then with the supplies we had, but even you all must agree with me that starting a food fight was not the best use of our resources. The food that was wasted during, what is now being called, World War Food, could have kept Onadbyr fed for six whole months. When our settlement begins to starve next month, we all know who to hold responsible.
