Chef Dori wants us to find a fruit cart, the men she hired for it were seemingly attacked by monkeys. It took a few days to get there, but as we approached the forest this highway robbery took place, a large monkey snatched my coin purse. At least... it looked large to me, much larger than I expected monkeys to be, after seeing Xie's shenanigans. As I went to pursue the thief, another monkey swooped in and stole Jovial's coin purse. The one I chased was orange, the other was grey, and seemed to have wings.. or perhaps more like a glider? I know some animals have such features. I've never seen or heard of such creatures before either, but I believe some new visitors to town are more knowledgeable about such creatures than me.
The orange monkey took some punishment from most of the group, and tried to flee into the trees. With my spell effects, I managed to teleport straight up onto a tree branch, I almost fell, but when I went to yank the monkey off the tree, my footing slipped and I did fall. I hoped it looked more impressive than it was.
In the meantime, by the time I got back up, the other, grey monkey was dead. Dori did express interest in the meat, so Jovial got to work hacking away at its meat, while the rest of us went looking for the missing cart. We found it, but there was another grey monkey sleeping near it. LOC and I got pretty close to just taking the cart away, but Taka stepped on... something? And let off a bright explosion, which woke up the beast, meaning we were in for another fight. Callie had already run off to get Jovial, so we were temporarily split, but the 4 of us gave it a run for its money before the other 2 came back. Callie let off lightning from her fingertips and shocked the monkey so badly it began to run, but LOC managed to hit it with a blast of water.
Using the cart we were able to recover the fruits and meat of the three creatures, and brought it back to town. LOC helped start the barbecue pit, and we enjoyed some burgers. I had mine medium-rare, and it was still a bit too tough. Monkey meat might just not be good eats.
