There are so many things that I would never have expected to see since coming to Onadbyr. One of my first missions involved some haunted dolls, but this one felt different: a small Poppet named Kiara has contracted us to go on a journey they described as dangerous! We were sent to go help a friend of Kiara's, who she was concerned about. The journey was well prepared for, Kiara having set up camp sites with supplies, including rations and a mystery golden bag we would get at each camp. The trip was quite long, but it became apparent fairly quickly that most of the dangers Kiara would go on to describe were only particularly dangerous for individuals of her size and fragility. Emphasis on most, as we approached a hag's home, it turned out that the last leg of the journey would be quite dangerous.
Kiara apparently befriended a hag named Agnes, and this immediately caused my fur to stand on end. Patton looked extremely uncomfortable too, but we decided to trust Kiara and we all stayed the night at Agnes's home. It was a tense night for me in particular, since Agnes supposedly had a taste for children... and I am kind of a child, especially compared to the others. But we managed to make it through the night and we continued our journey.
The next day we had to deal with a massive cliff, and it was gusting so hard that I was afraid I would be carried away. Kiara may actually be the bravest among us, considering she's much smaller and lighter than I am! We anchor ourselves to each other as we approached the top of the cliff, and then we had to descend a particularly slick set of stairs built into the cliff. The gusts were so loud we couldn't even hear each other, but we all make it to the next destination.
At the bottom of the cliff is Kiara's next supply site, with 2 boxes - 1 filled with food and supplies, the other with lumber and parts for what would make up a boat. Clementine gets to work organizing the supplies box, while the rest of us put together the boat. I was able to get it set up correctly, but I did need help from Patton to keep things straight and Peaches to actually lift the lumber. It takes some time but we get everything set up as we set sail. Clementine takes the lead as the rest of us get to work on rowing the boat... something I was wholly unprepared for, physically speaking at least.
After a few hours sailing through the rough sea, we reach calmer waters, approaching our final destination. Kiara has us get out the golden bags and it turns out its contents were a set of charms that we all assemble in our own ways, which seems to have a slight magical twinge to it. As we approach the island, Kiara also lets us know that her Poppet friend Hippi wants help because her human is getting old, and they want to recreate his first adventure. So we've arrived, 10 days later, to help an old man relive his youth at the request of a close companion.
