What are GMs?

GMs, or Gamemasters, run sessions in Kelek. GMs are the lifeblood of any living server. Without Expeditions being run no one would be able to play and the world wouldn't be living. If you're interested in running your own sessions in the world of Kelek, see Becoming a GM. Don't worry if you have little to no experience, we have many experienced GMs that are happy to help new players take the leap into running games.

Becoming a GM

Step 1. Open a Ticket

Open a Ticket and express your interest in becoming a GM. Once the process starts we'll ask a variety of questions and require a few things from you. Don't worry about having more than a concept for a session ready before you open your ticket, the beginning of the process is a discussion between you and the Firekeeper team.

Step 2. (We) Survey the existing GMs

The existing GMs set the tone and direction of many of the storylines in Kelek, their voices are important when considering what kind tone and what kinds of expeditions are going to be offered for players. GMs are typically very active and interact with most players and other GMs. The GMs determine if you've been around long enough to get a feel for how the server runs and if your style fits into the world of Kelek.

Step 3. (You) Prepare a Concept

It's likely that thinking of a session idea made you interested in running a game within Kelek. Present the concept of your first session to the other GMs in your ticket. Be prepared to workshop, especially if you are new to running sessions in general.

Step 4. Run Your Trial Session

Your first session is a trial session approved by Firekeepers. Trial sessions are overseen by a Storyteller, and at the end of the session the players involved are given a survey to complete. After the responses are received, the supervising Storyteller will review them with you. If there are no issues in the evaluation, you will receive the GM role.
