Appearance: Swaying Petals is a 2’9’’ tall Leshy that takes the appearance of a sunflower, with bright yellow petals surrounding her freckled, smiling face covered in sunflower seeds. She has a lanky green body with stubby legs and large leaves that act as her hands. She wears white explorers clothing and leaves resembling a skirt cover her lower half.
Background: Swaying Petals (or Petals for short) was created by a human Druid named Dane the Insane alongside many other leshies. Dane was a disheveled wild-man whose main fashion accessory was a pot that he used as a helmet. He lived alone in the woods and spoke in a babbling near gibberish that only plants could understand. Dane lived a peaceful life until one day his grove was beset by hordes of zombies. Dane beat back wave after wave, but as the hordes of undead never seemed to end, he used his druidic magic to slowly create a small Leshy army to help him protect his home. So one day, years into Dane’s war against this seemingly endless zombie horde, he created Swaying Petals. She felt an immediate connection to the sun and took to the tomes of the literature of Sarenrae, and joined the small platoon of plants that also followed the faith. She found her place supporting her allies not only with divine healing, but also through singing as she sang to others as she healed and fought in order to keep up morale in the long, grueling battles. She always tried to keep a smile on everyone’s face. While she trained and studied hard to live up to the expectations of her creator and other Leshies, the relentless undead forces were eventually too much to deal with. She watched as day by day, more of her Leshy comrades were eaten by the undead masses. Ground continued to be lost until finally they were pushed back to the grove itself to make a last stand. Dane, sensing that the battle was lost, heroically dived headfirst into the undead horde, shouting to the remaining Leshies to escape with their lives. Fearing for her life and not wanting to join all the fallen Leshies, she turned and fled the grove along with the few other Leshies still agile enough to run. As Leshies had never left the grove, they quickly became lost and were ambushed by pursuing zombies. The Leshies scattered as it was every plant for themselves and Petals kept running, never looking back, until her legs gave out. It was deep into the night and Petals collapsed, safe, but alone. Over the next several years, she wandered the countryside, exploring the ruins of the world and meeting unfamiliar, but friendly, creatures. She used her singing talents to improve her reputation and earn enough coin to stay at inns. She holds onto hope in her heart that somehow her creator and mentor Dane the Insane is still alive and vows to return to the grove one day, to drive all of the undead out. In the year 226, it has been around 5 years since Dane the Insane’s grove was overrun, and Petals has finally wandered into the largest metropolis she has ever seen: Onadbyr. She was amazed at the scale of the operation of the Round Table and signed up as an associate in order to put her skills to good use and make the world a better place. With any luck, she can find peers to travel with her to lost home, but she knows she needs to learn a lot more before she is strong enough to return.
Personality: Petals is a fun loving, bubbly airhead who always strives to bring smiles to people’s faces. This does not apply to any undead, zombies or otherwise. She hates undead and will light up a heal spell upon seeing any, but she can be convinced to not smite undead if a friend vouches for them. She loves to sing and will try to keep a smile on everyone’s face. She is very naive and unfamiliar with the world. She is very excitable and uses the phrase “Oh my gosh” a bit too frequently.
