Most of us who had been on this job had previously encountered a creature covered in a shell of dawnsilver - a crucidaemon. Creatures with tough shells often have good meat on them, so I figure that it would make for an excellent meal if I hunted it down, and there is also a chance that if we tracked it down, we might also find more daemons who are connected to Man Slayer. The frail-looking human who was with us last time knows someone who can use magic to track down the crucidaemon - some sort of dream witch. This will save us a lot of time. The bird and armored hobgoblin from the last encounter with it are also here, as well as the fortune teller. We get our fortunes told and head out to where the dream witch detected the location of the crucidaemon. At some point, while we're on the way there, the sun disappears, and the moon turns a bright shade of red. Perhaps Fumiyoshi has killed Tsukiyo again. We followed the trail presented to us, and it leads us to a manse in the woods. There are numerous people outside of the manse, and we have a chance to use the cover of darkness to sneak up on them. It does not take long for them to discover us, however we do learn that they were facing off with the hounds of tindalos, and the fortune teller notices identical symbols of a clock on their outfits - clearly some sort of time cult. We kill every last one of them, they should not have picked a fight with us if they were this weak. The bird comes up with a plan to lock the front door to the manse while we sneak in through the back. A clever plan indeed. When we enter, we encounter another cultist, along with two Unilla, the same devils that we encountered during the last incident with the hounds of tindalos. They had just finished fighting the hounds, and they picked a fight with us next - a stupid decision. They put up more of a fight, but they still fall nonetheless. We take a moment to rest after that since it seems safe. The fortune teller attempts to scam me with overpriced potions. I do not fall for it, I am not a sucker who would give up my hard-stolen gold in such an obvious scam. The bird is, however. We continue to investigate the manse, and we find a room with some bizarre blue magic happening in it. There's some weird gold guy, and bird guy who is not our bird guy. There are only two of them, but they still put up a decent fight. Something breaks in this room, the time stream. We nearly get frozen in time, but the fortune teller eats the fact that we get frozen? I have no idea how that works, but that does not sound very filling. He needs to eat something that will actually give him energy, like the crucidaemon. The gold guy and the other bird still get frozen though, sucks to be them. The gold guy asks not our bird what it did. I do not think that matters though, we kill them both. Not our bird takes a bit longer to take down, we kill it, and another one slips out of the time stream. We do this three times, and then it and the gold guy get sucked into the timestream. The fortune teller throws up for like, three minutes straight. It's a disguising sight. We see the hounds of tindalos leave out the front door, looks like we dealt with their quarry. We look deeper into the house and find the crucidaemon and more unilla. They do not last long against us, and I am able to use it to make a nice stew. Our bird appears to have been affected by the time stuff in here, I wonder what that's all about.
