Associates investigate troll noises and get themselves captured.
Log
Beginning report: Objective: Investigate troll noises within the underground tunnels. Much screaming, from the description of "torturing cats". Heading to the site of the noise complaints, we find a chained cave troll. Its wounds, throat included, are constantly healing and opening again in a specially-designed torture method for regenerators like this troll. The troll, through strained voice, informs us "The King Below" did this to them. The Hryngar have been enslaving these trolls, based on prior expedition logs. We are also informed they possess a large meteorite of adamantine, bolstering their combat capabilities. We hear a slaver force coming, and move to face them.
Numerous soldiers, a spellcaster and a slave lord all oppose us, numbers are distinctly not on our side. We kill the numerous primary soldiers, but fail to take out the leadership before we are brought low. Captured, as expected of slavers. We wake up in separate cells deeper in the underground, with a heavily armored guard patrolling for some time. DDOS continuously makes a great deal of noise from their cell, providing this unit the ability to wait until the guard departs, then break the bars via focused impacts to escape. Grabbing the keys, this unit quietly frees its companions, and confirms no other slaves are present for us to free. Unsure of where our stolen gear is, this unit finds a partially blooded room and a means of escape from the prison. Knowing the guard went in the only other direction, likely in the direction of the team's equipment, we accept its loss and make our escape.
Crows navigated us through the tunnels, and DDOS left a trail of hidden sigils for the next team to navigate with. This unit scouted the area to help us avoid Hryngar patrols, and with a minimal need for food or sleep among our team, the 3 days of travel are easier than they would be otherwise. At one point we come across a wide open area, approximating a 1000 foot drop from the cliff. Using this measurement, we estimated the castle in the distance to be in the region of 500 feet tall. With this reference point, Crows navigates us in the opposite direction to find our way back to the crossroads. A report is also given to Drake. End Report.
