Log

We had two issues to discuss.

1. The two graveknights that were, at the time, trying to break out of storage, which we had no easy solution for the permanent removal of.

2. The powerful necromancer and knight we failed to deal with in the Lancaster Graveyard.

The first matter was the graveknights. To our knowledge, the only way to destroy them permanently was to use some sort of disintegration spell, send them to the positive energy plane, or throw them into the heart of a volcano. The nearest one we knew of at the time was weeks away and used by Areppo Manufacturing. Not easily done, given it would result in the group transporting it having to fight them at least once, maybe more, without proper warning as to when they would reform. Our conversation first turned to the magics used by the hellknight paravicar we recently slew. Of the same caliber of magic as a disintegration according to Satori, but I am almost certain the paravicar we fought was not only a divine caster, not an arcane caster, but also that he was the only one in the city of Lancaster. The odds of encountering another deployment within the same city was very low, and even then it would be not too likely that they were led by both a paravicar and an arcane one at that.

We had multiple other suggestions. Disorro suggested using the water of the grove on either issue, as did Serene with the idea of submerging the armors. Unfortunately that water is also dangerous to us, and the metal is dangerous to the grove. Ashley suggested some cockroach creatures that consume metal, and while it could work, they were both regenerative and we had no easy access to those creatures either. The odds were not in our favor for that idea. Finally we stumbled into the idea that Ashley's wife, Ellie, might have a way to dispel the magic or something similarly useful. Accepting that this was worth a try, we prepared ourselves and went on to handle the graveknights once more in Graveknight Knockdown. Despite our best hopes, Ellie also did not possess the tools to finish the job.

We reconvened a couple of days later, with Satori bringing in Maki and Raijin to discuss what they had seen in Tilfel. Apparently they had found lava there, and the hope is currently that a scouting party sent out soon will be able to find a volcano somewhere within. If it is, we may be able to set out with the armors to drop them into this much closer access point of a volcano. That part remains to be seen, however.

The second issue, the issue of the necromancer and her knight, was a much more brief issue. At the first part of the meeting we only briefly discussed that they did not seem keen to leave the graveyard, but the longer we gave them, the more likely it became that they could. Disorro mentioned potentially using the Grove's water on them, and otherwise the proper discussion on them did not come until near the end of the second part of the meeting. Nashi'a brought it back up, pointing out that we would likely need only our most capable to set out to handle these threats. The danger was, the longer we waited, the more time they would have to prepare for us. With some discussion between the strongest members, it was finally decided that we would take a short time to ensure all those joining the expedition would have time to prepare themselves, but not long. We are not going to rush into danger immediately, but if we give them time we know we will be facing another wall of undead, now assisted by a powerful spellcaster.

To make a long story short, we will be sending out a party to Tilfel to search for a route to the heart of a volcano, hoping that to be the solution to the graveknights. For the necromancer and knight we will strike soon, not giving them too much time to fix their defenses. Only our best may go on the latter mission, so be aware of the dangers that will pose before you request to join the return to the graveyard.
