Meeting Nashi'a Myr in the trimarket, we got the general rundown. Clear out some undead, find the leader of the undead if you can, but don't be heroes. This job was never to handle the undead problem by ourselves, and we all understood it. We headed into the sewer, noticing carnivorous fish in the water. A couple of people could hear undead on the right path, so we started by crossing a wooden bridge and covering that area first. There we found a handful of old, dried-out undead that were dispatched without much issue. The bigger issue was a zombie that seemed more intelligent, using my occupation with multiple zombies to go around and attempt to strike our backlines. Once that was handled and everyone was able to recover, I checked further to the south and only found a sewage run-off into more water, not likely to be a place we could explore at the moment.
We instead headed northward, with the warning that Ashley and Ellie could see shapes in the water, I headed forward to draw their attention, being attacked by some sort of seaweed-covered, undead Grindylow. One latched onto me but I sent it flying without much issue, but the real issue came in how spread out they turned out to be. One attacked Chrysanthemum and I went to help with that, while in the meantime Another grabbed Benny as he moved past me to make room for others to jump across the sewage river. While we handled the one near the group, the one with Benny was able to carry him off further into the sewers. I was too busy getting untangled from the seaweed and climbing out of the water, but from what I was able to identify, it seems the grindylow nearly got Benny killed thanks to swarms of pirahnas that attacked them both while they were isolated. if not for the work of Amani's robotic companion and Chrysanthemum's healing, he likely wouldn't have made it. Still, he did, and after we stepped outside to rest for a time and let me heal everyone, we continued that northern path. Ellie had spotted a hidden room, and that was our next objective.
After Amani checked the room for traps and identified a hidden door within that small hallway, we headed inside. I was able to identify an altar to Sarenrae, and followed behind Chrysanthemum as they headed over to consecrate it. It was not desecrated, thankfully. In this same room were 6 sarcophagi however, the furthest of which asked "Who dares disturb the warriors of Sarenrae" while we were working on the altar. Rising up to attack us, Chrysanthemum was able to finish the ritual and weaken the undead with the goddess's light while we fought. A swarm of necral worms also encroached upon us, but thankfully nobody was left in especially bad condition afterwards. Most of our group's magical capabilities were spent after this, however, so we called it a day for this expedition. A path forward from the entrance still remains, presuming we hadn't missed anything.
