Log
So I saw a weird guy, this is the day before by the way, and he looked like he was starving or something. I went to check on him, maybe offer some food, but my head hurt and he was just suddenly gone. I'm mentioning this part because it's relevant, okay? So I went and got a weird urge to go to the trimarket place the next day, which, you know me, I hate all of your stupid city stuff so that was kinda weird. Anyway that's the day that's actually important here. I met what's her name, the cat lady, the dwarf with all the weapons, the dwarf with the riding lizard named Stupid, this short person with armor and a red eye, and Sheeri. There we met the weirdo from yesterday, but he looked fine now. Also he looked different for other people apparently? Gonna have to ask them about that yourself probably.
Anyway we suddenly appeared on a ship? It was like we weren't there though, the crew didn't really acknowledge us. Oh, we appeared on the dock first I think, then we got on the ship, then time sped up a lot. Didn't effect us though, seemed like we were in some sort of dream realm. I've been in one before so it felt kinda similar. Forgot to check my mirror though, oops. Anyway the trip sucked for the actual crew, not us watching this story play out. Icy waters, getting lost, all that awful stuff. They eventually saw an albatross, which any smart person with nature knowledge would know is an easy way to find land, but the stupid captain shot it because he was throwing a fit. The crew got over it for what I think was implied to be a day or two with the passing of time, but as things kept being shitty they got mad and made him wear the dead bird like a cape.
That's when stuff started getting weird for us though. The armored short person mentioned the sound of breaking glass, like a translocate spell, near the edge of the boat. Soon after some big fiend-ish creatures popped in from cracks in "reality" and started fighting us. One was a big vulture-looking guy with red skin, armor, and lots of weapons. Most were inside his body, but he could shoot them out like projectiles if he wanted to. Along with him were two spiky red guys that could shoot their spikes. They also wore some messed up armor, like the spikes just sorta popped out of them and ruined it? Weird stuff. Anyway we killed them, which didn't bother the crew by the way, nothing we or the monsters did seemed to even register with them physically or mentally.
The story kept going though, with the cracks in reality still going. Time was moving quick, so we were able to do some stuff quickly, like medicine or healing or refocusing, but our bodies still only acted like seconds had passed. Again, weird stuff. Anyway, the crew started getting really sick, which makes sense, they weren't taking care of themselves and the captain was walking around with a dead bird on his shoulders. To emphasize these sick people, four really nasty creatures popped up to fight us. Two big, maggot-covered digitigrade (That means they have backwards knees) creatures with long, almost horse-like skull faces and missing flesh all over showed up. There were also two slime-pterodactyls that were leaving slime trails everywhere. The rot-skulls really enjoyed vomiting disease everywhere, so we tried to kill them first. The slime creatures did like slimes do and really wanted to latch onto us, but they were also fine just throwing nasty goop at us. Pretty sure the short-armor got sick like, twice during this, but I handled it the next day with lots of disease-removal magic.
After we killed those, the same time-dilation thing happened again. We re-prepared, though we were a bit more spent on resources to prepare this time. Sheeri checked her mirror and realized we were probably in a memory-plane, a really strong dream creation thing. So pretty similar to a dream realm, which we both have experience with. The memory-crew was now starving as time passed again, they were basically out of water and food at this point. To symbolize this we had to fight two insect-swarm-like creatures- Okay let me clarify, they were like a singular big bug creature, but they were made out of a swarm of tiny insects. Like the solid, singular creature could divide into insects whenever. It was really weird, but hitting it with big area spells worked as well as it did on other swarms at least? Anyway we had to fight two of those and a rat-wolf-person thing. The rat-wolf thing made people feel kinda bleh when it bit them, and it did some magic too. The bug swarm was just really loud and hurt to be anywhere within like, 30 feet of. We dealt with them too, but it took most of what we had left over.
We healed up as best we could, which was not much as I was basically out of healing spells at this point, and watched as a skeleton person rowed up on a small boat. No wind was blowing, our boat was stranded, and this death-looking person with a big scythe they used to row started rolling some dice. With every roll people died, starving to death from the looks of it, and each crew member's soul is sucked away. Except for the "lucky" captain though, he got a 1 on the die and got to live. And live, and live, and live. He starved for weeks, but found a new reason to live in remembering the lives of his crew or something? Anyway a storm eventually rolled in, giving the lucky captain wind in his actual sails, and water to drink. We hoped it was finally over, but those stupid cracks in reality started cracking again, and it was looking pretty bad this time too.
Last round, out came three things. A spirit bearing the souls of lots of other people, definitely a representation of the captain. There was also a big crystal monster thing, and a robed, skull-monster that casted a lot of death spells we barely kept the armored-small alive through despite his taunting. I saved my slow spell for them and it got them all pretty good I think, hard to tell with the spirit since everyone collectively killed it as fast as possible once it started doing a lot of wide-area ghost nonsense. We all survived the fight though, and watched time speed up again. The captain was eventually saved by a couple of small boats paddling up, that happened before we fought that last group actually, and he waited to be rescued. After we won our fight he got rescued, his sad ghost-self was there after we beat the specter by the way, and sailed away on one of the boats. Time sped up a LOT, and we watched probably hundreds of years pass by with the constant bell ringing noise, which has been happening this entire time by the way I kinda just drowned it out up until this point, that noise got way louder and time eventually slowed down again. The Cracks started growing again, which was kinda weird since we didn't feel anything coming out?
Anyway he got to Onadbyr, specifically in that port area, and said "Finally, I have returned home" or something. Sounds like he was from here a really long time ago, but he got cursed to wander for a really long time. Something about a "Millennia walking". We watched him walk to the trimarket and just stand there, which means he never actually went to any of the places us 6 remembered seeing him? He just sorta stood in the trimarket the whole time until we got there, then we were all caught up! Anyway the bells got really loud, then FINALLY stopped. We woke up back in the city, just standing there, and a crack formed in the sky. We watched that war god, Gorum, get killed by a giant mantis creature up in the sky. Not like, above Onadbyr, but like, above everything. Kinda weird. Anyway Gorum died, the captain guy turned to dust and became the ghost thing we fought again. All the spirits he controlled, his crew probably, started ascending to heaven or something but got stopped and sucked into that big crack in the sky. Captain tried too, also got snatched up. The sky itself kinda gets pulled in too, and a meteor shower starts. One of them punched a hole in the sky, which is still there now actually. There was an eclipse at some point during that process I think, but I didn't notice until it stopped like right after this. Some stuff was left for us, gifts I guess? Anyway that's my report on whatever the heck happened out there, nothing good ever happens around this stupid city.
