We travel through a strange portal with tentacles. It was freezing on the other side. We walk though the snow for hours just to find out we took a wrong turn. It will be hours before we can get back to the right path. Night starts to fall and we decide to camp. Finding a notch into the side of the glacier and make camp. After all is setup we collect what little firewood we could find in the area. First watch is Raijin and nothing happens. I get woken up for my shift and threw some more wood on the fire.
Sitting around waiting I noticed a strange icicle. I had to go check it out. Looking at it it starts to look back and a strange ice being starts to walk after me. My entire watch was spent staying just out of reach. Hours of walking around but at least it kept me warm. When it was time to wake Fen up, I walked around the campsite and tried to wake Fen up as I passed the tent. Fen woke up and actually looked happy about this thing following me around. Convincing me that this was nothing bad I allowed it to get uncomfortably close. It turned into me but made out of ice. Now it follows me around like a lost puppy. I'm pretty tired so I just go back to my bedroll and sleep the rest of the night. Fen's watch has a few bat things that tried to drop rocks on us. Fen is a pretty good defender and chased them away.
Benny wakes up and lets us know that there is a camp near by. Not sure how he knew. We travel to the location and find the camp with a snow lion sleeping in the middle. We walk up and notice a child about to throw a rock. Fen tries to talk to her and she yells into the camp. I have no idea what is going on. Raijin runs up and takes out the little girl. Fen doesn't look happy and cast a spell on her. That is when another comes out of a tent and the snow lion wakes up. Fen asks us to use non lethal force against them. The lion gets a few good hits in before running off and Fen convinces them to surrender. Who knew Fen was able to speak their language. I “used my skills” to heal the little girl while Fen talked. The children are Jorgen, Helgre, Ulrik and Arthur. We end up watching them pack up the camp and we travel to the outskirts of Snehov.
So much talking happened that I couldn't understand as we get there. Raijin starts looking at the children like they are items. They discus selling these children back to them. Fen translating everything for me says that if you beat someone in a fight they become your thrall. Who knew it was so easy to get slaves. Such a strange place. The Forgeband is a nomad group that travels around and raids cities for what they need. I guess they leave the citys mostly intact. Raijin ends up dueling Ottar for the children and losing. I guess Ottar and Raijin are friends now. Ottar pays with some local currency and they go off on their way. Seeing that the city of Snehov is still intact and used to being raided. So we head back to the portal. Ice Tuli follows us all the way through the portal and starts to melt as we travel back. When ice tuli is a puddle I give him a little hat tip and continue home.
