The connections between constellations create a web, the stars caught in them like flies.

Eira Illarhi is an Associate of the Round Table often found with her familiar companion, a moth named Phoebe.

Appearance and Personality

Lavender skin, pointed elven ears, arms and legs covered in a light carapace and two pincer fangs across her cheeks are her most defining features. Her true eyes are green while four total extra vestigial eyes, devoid of much detail, have appeared underneath them. She wears a large witch's hat over her long braid of dark purple hair, accented by dark sage green robes stitched with spider silk.

Eira is quiet and rather timid, but far from aloof. She simply enjoys serene spaces so that she may work more diligently, but company has never been unwelcome by her. She is always ready to lend a helping hand, should her skills be needed.

She finds magic's numerous forms fascinating, and as such, can often be found in her free time researching it as she tries to gain a better understanding of magic as a whole. She also enjoys, of course, weaving and sewing, using her natural silk production to fuel her hobbies.

Background

Eira hails from a place known as the Deep Woods, in which lay a small elven settlement that worships a fiendish entity who they call the Weaver Mother. This entity is also Eira’s patron, as she cannot seem to escape its many watchful eyes, and the reason she and many others from her home are born as nephilim with spider-like qualities.

She grew up one of many “weavers,” who served as priestesses of the entity as well as observers and keepers of their “Web of Fate,” as it was called. Her role was one of many, to spin the threads of fate into patterns the Weaver Mother could read, revealing futures yet to come. However, while working as a diviner of the Web, interpreting omens day in and day out, she eventually grew tired of being subject to an unchangeable future. She resented the premature endings that weighed upon her mind, and instead wished to untangle herself and find her own path.

As she grew older, though she could not escape her duties, she became more and more worried that her friends and family were beginning to live in constant fear of the future, despite their compulsions to divine it. They submitted to the being’s will and omens blindly, accepting every vision as a rule to be obeyed. Dissatisfied with the state of her home, and fearful for its future should it continue down this path of corrupted devotion, she left.

But Eira was not entirely free from the entity’s gaze. She is still an unwilling host to its presence, despite the power it has given her, and can never fully shake free the feeling of being watched. As such, she does not know what it wishes to do with her, or why it keeps supplementing her magic despite her direct wishes to escape fate. She still makes use of the augury given to her by her patron out of necessity; it is a power she wishes to one day harness herself through the study of magic after severing herself from fate’s threads, but until then, she channels it through Phoebe, the silk moth familiar granted to her.

Eventually, after spending some time wandering in the wake of the Collapse, she made her way to Onadbyr to search for a way to distance herself from her fate, hopefully while helping people along the way.

"I wish to live as I am, not to spend every waking hour fearing the future."

Abilities

Harnessing the power of her patron, Eira is capable of reading the future and manipulating strands of fate, though she often prefers simpler magic. Alongside Phoebe, the two work as one to take on a supportive role in combat so that her fellows may do the heavy hitting instead. As she is inexperienced and generally adverse to altercations, she prefers to solve things with words before they get bloody, but if pushed, may unleash curses upon her foes.

Phoebe

Eira’s familiar, Phoebe, is a giant silk moth, docile and curious by nature. The two of them are inseparable; Phoebe has been traveling with Eira since she was first looked upon by her patron, and though Eira never asked for such power, she considers Phoebe to be her closest companion.
