Gin is an Associate of the Round Table.

Background

Gin's tribe, in more peaceful times, settled near an abandoned wizard's tower, once belonging to mage of some renown in some older era. As a young cub, Gin spent a lot of time between their duties as a bonekeeper-in-training. In these aspects, Gin learned the respect necessary for the magic that innately coursed through their blood as a witch kholo, but held a much greater curiosity of the supposedly cursed tower and the knowledge that lay within.

Gin learnt the fundamentals of wizardry within the halls of the tower throughout their adolescence, but one day in recent memory, they managed to unseal a hidden sub-level beneath what was already understood to be the 'basement'. Within the depths, a glass ampoule containing a gleaming two-toned crystal, both clear as quartz and dark as obsidian. Their curiosity got the better of them, leading to the breaking of the container and the subsequent physical bonding to the shard.

For Gin, the process was excruciatingly painful - bonekeepers were spiritualists and mages, but the process twisted and bound their muscles, rearranging them from the inside out. While Gin was by no means out of shape, after the ordeal they possessed a body that held the potential for a warrior, but retained their mind for a scholar and wizard. After 3 days and nights trapped and writhing within the tower, Gin emerged, outwardly unaffected aside from growing taller and walking with a more proper posture. With the assistance of their family, Gin came to understand they came to house a spark of divinity, blessed to them by Nethys. For 3 days and nights after, a festival was held in celebration of the auspicious occurrence. A blessing of this nature meant that their patron truly favored the tribe.

Months later, the Cycle resumed and brought an unprecedented cataclysm to the world. For all the fortune Gin's experience brought to their tribe, they held no chance when raiders ravaged their tribe for anything of value. Gin managed to escape, and have assumed they were the only survivor. Eventually, Gin made their way to Onadbyr.

Personality

In addition to the teachings of Nethys, Gin also holds a philosophical faith in the idea of karma. When fortune smiles, misfortune is sure to reset the scales, and vice versa - and sometimes, it's up to mortal hands to tip the scales that need balancing. It is with this hope that Gin believes, once the current catastrophe is subverted, that the world will see an unprecedented fortune.

While other scholars focus to the present and future predicaments, Gin has found themselves seeking to understand why the cataclysms happen in the first place. Understanding the mechanisms behind why Kelek is beset by regularly catastrophes may not lead to halting the events, but may lead to the people of the world handling them better.

Abilities

As an exemplar, Gin wields fantastic power, channeling magic through the divine shard and their ikons - their preferred Staff as a Titan Breaker, the location where the shard initially embedded itself as a Scar of the Survivor, and their beautiful eyes as an Eye-Catching Spot. While they are less useful as a wizard, they are still a user of the Arcane arts, using their magic to perform basic tasks and to supplement their combat abilities. Their training inevitably lead them to performing as a magus would, and has recently learned how to channel magic through combat in the same way.
