Gnome Addic and Nudbert have lost Gnome Ann (again), and need the help of Associates to bring her back (...again).

Log

Patton, Vliegen, Keira, Melfyra, and myself met before trekking for 2 days in the wilderness toward the sunken library. Those who had not previously met got accustomed to one another on the road and everyone shared what they could do and what they were good at. Before leaving we asked what it was Gnome Ann was looking for and it was a recipe by a D. Hines.

Once we got to the library we were greeted by a rather large statue of a man on a horse, after a little investigating we heard a voice to the west and went to investigate - upon opening the door a poison dart trap triggered but was rather inoffensive and more like a childs prank than actual deterrent.

Further in we found another room, where a poison gas trap failed to trigger, pitfall traps that were easy to spot and even if they weren't the spikes looked like they might be crushed under the weight of the lightest adventurer to do no damage at all. At the end of the room we spotted probably the weakest magical trap known to person-kind and in it was trapped a man called Trap Ed, he was freed with a glare that dispelled the magical trap and he led us through the dungeon to our destination; other traps of note he pointed out were wobbly bridges and falling bookcases, we then proceeded into the most dangerous trap of the library according to Trap Ed who refused to come with us.

We pushed forward into a magical section of the library, it is hard to tell if it was illusion or just spatial magic but several rooms were layered around one another like a cube of which we traversed. We pushed through various biomes of the cube battling trivial monsters and finding statuettes that taught Common. It should be noted here that Patton caught onto the puzzle of the Cube very quickly and so I left it to them to solve without hearing much of an explination if they wish to amend or insert their own report here I shall leave sufficent space to do so.

Addendum by Melfyra: Gnome Ann found a text that said "trapped in an eternal cycle, follow the one traced by the gods." Each of the rooms had a series of monsters in them that we had to fight, and when we cleared the rooms, a statue popped up that had a brief description of what we found in that room, mostly just what letter it starts with, indicating the path we needed to take, alphabetical order when the words are written in common. I don't remember the exact descriptions, but I do remember what letter they start with.

A for Ant

B for Beatle

C for Centipede (this one confused me, I borrowed a linguistics book and learned to write in common because of it)

D for Dragon

E for Ed (this one was in the room where Gnome Ann was. It was on a bust of Trap Ed)

F for Flower

Also, I see that next paragraph. I am not a murderer who orphans innocent creatures!

Amongst the various biomes we fought centipedes, beetles and ants; we found a sad kobold and Patton adopted a lamb made of plants and we found our target who seemed rather unphased about having been missing for a week. Melfyra made it a priority in combat to orphan innocent children by targetting the mothers first. As stated above Patton seemed to have figured out the secret of the cube rather quickly and so following him with Gnome and kobold in tow. We were rewarded with THREE GOLD each and some cooking recipes for five days work, I could have likely made much more staying back in the town which likely explains the lack of joy I have writing this log and its lack of puns.

Addendum by Vliegen: It was totally me that orphaned the plant, actually. I also killed the plant. Oh and back on the bridge traps and stuff, the two-way-path of bridges had the left side attack you with armor I think? And the other side was supposed to have flesh-eating bugs. It was the bridge AFTER that that was supposed to fall, I think? Could be totally wrong, actually.
