Log

Atticus, Lictor of the Torrent reporting on another mission assigned to a contingent of Hellknights, with support from other Associates. This time, our group was assigned the task of investigating rumors that The Father, previously reported by Associate Kali as slain, was no longer interred within his grave. The journey to the Were-creature camp was relatively uneventful and our group arrived within the expected timetable.

At the gates, we were directed to the rear of the camp where we met the leader of the werecreatures, Maera. She reported the situation to us- The Father was no longer in his grave. None of the guards had seen anything suspicious. One set of footprints were leading away from the gravesite. The source of the footprints was unknown, though it was possible that they had come from The Father due to his nature as a shapechanger. It was also possible that one of several groups who were discontent with the camp's new leadership had facilitated the disappearance of The Father's body. This included a group of were-ants, a rogue researcher, and other possible suspects.

Our group began by interviewing several of the were-creatures in the camp before heading over to the gravesite. The gravesite was heavily fortified. We spoke with the guard captain and learned that he had lost track of two scouts who had been sent to follow the trail left behind. In the grave, there are traces of a worm passing into and out of the grave. We requisitioned one of the were-mole guards to follow the worm trail and found that they led outside to where the originally discovered footprints had appeared. We followed the trail along the river before we needed to stop and camp for the night. We discovered a were-wasp that seemed to be keeping watch on our camp. It fled when discovered and we followed it to a clearing where we met an individual who seemed to be The Father, though he introduced himself with the name of Killian. He stated that he was currently staying and working with the were-ants after coming to our world from another. Eventually, Killian agreed to accompany our group to go speak with Maera and explain his situation as well as what had happened to The Father's body.

After speaking with Maera, Killian agreed to keep an eye on the were-ant colony and Maera stated that she would be hiring more associates at a later time to help deal with the newly realized were-ant problem.
