Sain de Pherae is technically an Associate of the Round Table. He showed up to Onadbyr one day alone, staggering out of the wilderness; the only thing he said before passing out at the gates was “Food.” Fortunately for Sain people took pity on him, and he has lived in the town ever since.

Sain is a very unenthusiastic Associate. He openly admits that he only participates in missions every once in a while when the Council threatens to cut off his rations, and when not on assignment (which is as much of the time as he can swing) he spends most of his time eating and/or gossiping. He variously claims to be riddled with magic resistant tapeworms and to have a food-consuming black hole in his stomach; perhaps there is some truth to his claims, since he is rail thin despite his daily consumption of mountains of food.

In battle, he is a terrible fighter. He has yet to inflict a single point of damage as all of his attacks thus far have either missed or been entirely resisted. He is, however, a capable shit-talker and demoralizer, and can provide some social utility despite being fairly useless in other respects.

Recently, Sain has started a Dance and Life Coaching business in Onadbyr to make a little extra money. It’s unclear how effective his coaching is as most of his lessons seem extremely specific to his own personal circumstances (“Eat 10,000 calories a day to satiate the beast inside,” “Words speak louder than actions because actions are silent, so act as little as possible,” “You might not be able to break their bones but you can make them cry”). His dance lessons seem to be more legitimate, albeit still unusual. His primary course is in something called "breakdancing."
