Log
I write this log now from a strange and unfamiliar place as I wait for the impending holy trial of a fellow associate. I will attempt to the best of my ability to recall the unfortunate circumstances that have led to our current legal troubles.
It all started when Kagari heard word that Absinthe had been gone longer then expected going out for ingredients. Rightfully worried they sought aid from myself and some other associates. We set out in the direction of her last know destination: the Spirit Bottle. On our way there we came across Absinthe's Wagon suffering from a broken wheel. After mistakenly accosting me and giving Kagari and Lucky a stern talking to, the wheel was righted and Absinthe set back for Onadbyr. In her place we were tasked with acquiring the ingredients from the Spirit bottle. This time we needed items to counteract the items previously acquired, namely: a Glacier Pearl, Bottled Order, Thaumic Coagulator, and a Timeless Timeless Dowsing Snail Dowsing Snail.
So once again we returned to the ever inscrutable den of darkness. As before we met with Lady Silu, but without any payment to give her she instead demanded some of our time in return for the requested items. Time spent in the form of janitorial duties. Dutifully we set about cleaning her mysterious closet. Again this closet came with a strange warning not to bother the bottles kept there, and again she was rather insistent she would have know way of knowing if we did. Of insatiable curiosity, Lucky opened a bottle containing a little green man who promised to help fix a broken shelf in the closet. When freed it was revealed to be a Djinn! What's more it mistook Lucky's request for aid as a wish and magically restored the shelf to working order before disappearing. Kagari was the next to open a bottle, this one full of slivers of iron. As it turned out this too held a captive, a demon no less! For its freedom, the devil halfheartedly offered a day of servitude to Kagari (Neat!) Feeling the need to free any other captives we opened the next, this one holding a little silver bell. To our great surprise and dismay this one held what appeared to be a child! Desperate to be free of this place! Seeing now what we must do we stole away the rest of the bottles and replaced them with... passable duplicates. Stashing them away in dust bags, we finished our cleaning and returned to Silu. Grateful for our help (and seemingly not wise to our escapades), she gave us the ingredients and bid us on our way.
Out in the fresh air again the "child" ran off into the forest, briefly showing its true form (some sort of shapeshifter as it turned out). The next bottle opened turned out to be a hag. Not just any hag mind you, but Lady Silu's very own flesh and blood sister! She had a score to settle with her sister naturally, but was dissuaded against attacking immediately by Kagari on the promise that they would return with more associates to do the deed. Our next freed captive was not nearly as agreeable. A living waterfall was freed and attacked us on sight! After dispatching with that one we decided we'd do well to open the last three bottles away from the mouth of the cave. This is where the trouble really started. The next bottle held none other than an Archon of the Legion! It immediately picked up on Kagari's new devil servant and proclaimed us all guilty of consorting with the unholy! Aleth from some distance away shot open the next bottle wasting no time. As if the situation was not already dire enough there was now a lich to contend with! A few of convinced the Archon we were not guilty of consorting with devils, but Kagari as the devil's keeper was not so lucky. After putting up a meager fight, Kagari agreed to go into the Archon's custody and the Lich teleported away. The last bottle fortunately carried little more than a messenger fairy that died shortly after.
While Lucky and Aleth went to finish the mission, the rest of us were spirited away to await trial, Rajin and I as witnesses and Kagari as the defendant. Now, with Kagari's life on the line, the future is unsure.
In short: Vitriol and I had a lot of fun!
