Urgent job apparently, looking for owls to find where our info person was. Didn't take us too long to find the scout ratfolk guy near the village, thanks to his owl. We went and checked the place out, and boy was it abandoned. No animals, not even insects roaming around! I flew over the place and didn't see a thing, just a big church up on the hill. Scout said the bandits here had been carting out wheelbarrows full of metal stuff, kinda like scrap? We took a look around, finding old bodies with tiny scratches and stuff on them, and it looked like stuff had been blown own or broken, like a dragon was tearing through the town or something. Flower lady said the place felt like death, and it sure looked like it too. Even a lot of the plants were dead. Young trees at least, but the place wasn't overgrown or anything. The tall lady in armor said there wasn't any lingering magic around, which I would've thought this place was blighted or something honestly. Oh right, the bodies looked almost like frostbite got them or something? Doesn't match up with the city being wiped out though. Bodies were weirdly preserved, guess because bugs and other scavengers were too scared to ever get close to this place?

Anyway we went up to the temple and flower lady said it was a temple to Balumbdar, god of megafauna and other sorts of big stuff. Knowing this, I figured the scratches on the bodies didn't match any sort of small creatures biting or scratching, so I wondered if it had anything to do with a big monster, with Balumbdar being here and all that. Anyway tall armor lady detected magic near the altar area, and we found what we're pretty sure was a dragon skeleton? Not one of our kinda dragons either, pretty sure it was one of them weird ones from uhhh, Valera. The place the scout came from. To put that in big letters, we found a bunch of metal scrap around it body, looking kinda like scales. I collected some to make a hat out of, because the ones that weren't rusty were a nice blue-ish metal color. It being from a monster makes it okay to wear it as a druid!

Anyway the bandits showed up, so we magicked up and beat them up. A couple escaped to go tell their boss and get help, but we caught the mage and got some of the regular guys to surrender so we could get answers from them. Turns out the archer guys I smushed were the actual knowers, oops. Oh yeah, they had weapons made out of those weird scales, they disintegrated as soon as the guys dropped them in surrender! Weird, right? Anyway, mage says they're trying to figure out a way to use 'em more efficiently, and have them not do that. We're gonna go figure out what the deal is after we rest up, so I'll explain the rest after I go take a nap!

So after we rested we got our spells and stuff set up to go hunt these bandits down. Apparently most of them were orcs by the way? Dunno if that's relevant or not. Anyway, the scout pointed us in the right direction and from there I easily found their tracks. Took us a few hours, but we found their hideout and a back entrance, too! The water was a bit tall, but I just crawled along the wall and glided the rest of the way while my much taller party members waded across the 2 foot tall water. Flower lady got spotted, but we were looking for a fight anyway. Well, I was. Other people wanted to try "Diplomancy" first.

The bandits actually had a pretty fortified little cave, it was nice for an extension of civilization. Still disgusting, but when isn't any type of big, man-made structure? Anyway, there were some grunts and a spellcaster, as well as a crossbow person and a leader-looking guy. Gnome lady took on the leader and some of his grunts almost immediately, while flower lady and I did some magic. Tall armored lady tried joining Gnome lady, but got pushed off a ledge or something. The magic person got some grunts to form up around him like a troop or something, and we all ended up having to deal with that mess. We killed most of them though, with gnome lady knocking out a few. The "Big flaming monkey fists" approach still works.

Searching the place, we found the forge they were making these weird weapons at, along with another sword that wasn't destroying itself yet. The scout took that one, hope it doesn't fall apart as soon as they let go of it or something. Tall armored lady also found the bandit stash, and I took the leftover lunch they had made. I also found some better scales near the forge, and traded out some of my rusted stuff for much better materials. My weird dragon hat is gonna look really cool and dark blue! And metal, without having to be a city-person creation! I need to find more of these weird metal dragons and see what I can learn about them.
