We get called to the Stoneblight Forest on behalf of the dryads who live there. Apparently they've been having Basilisk problems for a long time now. If we end up encountering some, we just have to not look at them and hemorrhage them to fix it. That sounds a little too easy. I prepare a few more uses of Fear the Sun than normal just in case. We meet one of the dryads at the entrance of the forest. Apparently they haven't figured out how to fix the corruption, and it's been almost half a decade. I don't want to call them incompetent, but it sounds like they don't have much of a plan. The Hamadryad of the forest has also been affected by the corruption. I find some basilisks eating petrified bark from a a nearby tree. Since we know that we need their blood, we decide to take it from them, so we can soak the forest in it to clear up some of the petrification, assuming that drinking the red isn't necessary, which is something that I'd never do of course. Taru and Adyrha get a little petrified, we quickly find out that you do have to soak yourself in the red to get rid of the effects. One of the basilisks is really big, but it won't be enough to fix the rest of the forest. We'll need a lot of red to fix this. The bloody corpse calls a pack of wolves to our location. Sheeri has a Barks-kin potion to talk with them. I accompany her, seeing how this is a good opportunity for Adyrha to make more friends. They've been affected by the corruption, as have the creatures they prey upon, and they looked malnourished. I give them some food, and Sheeri pointed them in the direction of better hunting grounds. We present the big basilisk before the Hamadryad. She lets us know that the corruption facing the forest is different from the basilisks. Sahona and his stronger brother find a bag of petrification powder. This was a deliberate attack. It's a type of poison, requires a very specific antidote. I gather a sample. Taru fed the Hamadryad some chili, figuring that the spices can un-petrify her. It was a good idea, but it unfortunately did not work. The Hamadryad tells us there are many dangerous creatures in the really blighted part of the forest. She has less than a day left. She gave us a seed that we should give to one of the dryads who was the farthest from the blight, the last hope of the dryads, as she petrified before us. We decide to rest for a bit before taking any more action. Sheeri notices that the tree Sahona was sleeping in is pretty much entirely petrified. Sahona's stronger brother notices another bag of petrification powder. Sahona finds some footprints and goes off to find our alchemist, while we deliver the seed. He manages to find them before we can deliver it. 3 of them, and they must be medusas from his description. We deliver the seed to the person who called us here, and she became the new Hamadryad. We then rush to get the medusas. Mutt wants to interrogate one of them, I don't see any reason not to let it at first. They go down with little difficulty, and then we tie up the last one to interrogate them. They tell us that they were petrifying the forest for the betterment of their people, and they refuse to tell us anything else. Taru has a spell to talk with corpses, so we decide to rest and just get the information we need that way. We find out they worship Ayrzul. I don't know what I expected. They also tell us there's a temple somewhere in the forest. We decide to head back and let another group of associates deal with this, this is a little bit much for what we can do.
