Newer associates are sent to slay an Ogre Spider both to remove the threat and to gain field experience.
Log
The party met at Onadbyr and after receiving the mission and making basic preparations they immediately set out. The Ogre Spider is in a marked cave in a hilly area that we were able to find easily. The entrance to the cave was dark and narrow but the Kubo provided light to the party and after checking each tunnel passage they quickly cleared out a set of glowing beetles that went down relatively quickly.
The party then faced swarms of small spiders that were harder to deal with but after expertly dodging their attacks the party squashed them underfoot. Trapper then started looking for traces of the Ogre Spider and found a very deep pit filled with spider webs. Kubo tossed a light infused stone down the pit so the party could see the bottom but the party did not see anything else at the bottom of the pit.
The party then proceeded to fight some more swarms of spiders and light beetles, followed by some giant cockroaches. After exploring various tunnels and just finding more smaller bugs the party decided to go down the pit they had found before, using ropes to easily scale down the walls. At the bottom, they saw some mysterious writing floating in the air they did not understand but then as they continued to search they were ambushed by the Ogre Spider and its minions. Trapper was swarmed by spiders and went down but Ken was able to heal him, then the Ogre spider pounced on Ken with a devastating bite and took him down. Anran took advantage of its distraction to crush it from behind after which the party finished off the final minion and was able to recover.
