Valera is a village that is hidden away, nestled in a mountain range about 2 weeks travel from Onadbyr. It is the home of a Hunter's Guild, of which most adults join. They are isolated from most of Kelek, thus their customs and culture are quite different from many others.
During the previous cycle, Valera was nearly decimated by a horde of monsters. Shortly after, a refugee caravan of Ysoki arrived, and quickly made themselves useful to the primarily human survivors of the village. It took many years, but the people of the village became used to their presence and many were welcomed into their homes. The Hunter's Guild still does not allow the Ysoki to join as hunters, but instead encourages them to act alongside Hunters, and act as scouts.
Valera is the nearest settlement to a region known to the Associates as the Lost Valley. In this region, creatures evolved differently than others, resulting in creatures that the Associates of Kelek have no experience with.
Notable Individuals
- Qualily, a female human hunter who has retired from active duty after a particularly gruesome injury. She has taken up residence in Onadbyr, and serves as mission liaison for threats
- Phyl, a male ysoki Rogue, who dreamt of adventure and discovering the long lost secrets of his homeland. He was once Qualily's aid, before joining her in Onadbyr and joining the Associates.
