Yod is an Associate of the Round Table.
Background
Yod was born a pureblooded hobgoblin, to two normal hobgoblin parents, and was set to lead a normal hobgoblin life. Yod's problems began very early, as he became deathly ill as a newborn. While his parents cared for him, there wasn't much the village could do to help the child. Teetering on the verge of death, Yod received a blessing. From beyond the eyes of the material plane, a draconic benefactor strengthened Yod's body and soul. By a miracle, Yod recovered, and grew up with the rest of his community, now bearing the slightest hints of a draconic heritage.
The ordeal left two scars upon Yod. While he had managed to overcome the illness, he remained quite frail. While the militia wouldn't accept him as a fighter, Yod's skill for wizardry made him a valuable member of their magic corps, where his frailty was not a factor in his capacity for warfare. The second scar - for as long as he could remember, Yod heard voices. Sometimes it would come as a cacophony, sometimes a single manic whisper, occasionally a voice like screeching metal... the voices were never consistent, but they were a persistent factor throughout Yod's life, including the second most important day of his life thus far - the day he was exiled. Yod's mistake was simple - his ambition far surpassed his skill at magic. He had summoned a Fire Scamp... and found himself unable to control it at all. The elemental, in its efforts to "play", caused untold amounts of damage as it burned down much of the military camp the militia had set up. Yod, between the panic and the sudden cacophony of voices in his head, was unable to focus enough to undo the spell and return the scamp to the Plane of Fire. In the aftermath, Yod was deemed a liability, was exiled from his community, and was disowned by his family.
As he wandered the roads, certain to die on his own, Yod found that a small, strange lizard was following him. Even more strangely, when the lizard caught up to him, it spoke - and when it spoke, a chorus of voices poured out of its mouth. Yod instinctively knew the voices were the same as the ones he had been hearing all his life. It urged him to make a pact, to secure his safety and sanity. With the pact forged, Yod's mind cleared the chaos of noise, and he came to understand that he was hearing the voices of the denizens of the multiverse. He could now focus on one voice at a time, and even began to understand the words they speak. Yod's new familiar then urged him towards the city of Onadbyr.
Skills
Yod's skillset is heavily focused towards his magical abilities. As a student of the boundary, Yod's primary tactic is summoning extraplanar creatures, in particular ones with unique abilities to afflict his foes with, that he can then exploit magically. Having learned how to blend his spell slots, Yod can unleash more devastating spells and summon stronger creatures, but fewer spells overall.
