Yolanda has the rare distinction of being one of the first settlers of Onadbyr, as one of Ghromir One-Eye’s traveling companions. She has been entrusted with the sacred duty of scouting out locations for the town, due to her keen nose, and incredible sense of direction. Without her the town would be drinking from the Ripper, and using the rotting wood of old buildings for construction.

Yolanda was made a council member partially for her work finding resources in the area outside the town, but also for stopping a cholera epidemic that could have wiped out the population before it even had a foothold. The old wells are not safe to drink, but desperation is a hard master of men. The bodies of countless dead had clogged the sepulchers of the city, tainting the drinking water. It started with the children, as it always does. Little Tommy Undergallows, a halfling, died in his bed. His mother went next. Then the block got sick. The council was still establishing itself in those days, so investigators were sent, and they discovered a sickness spreading. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and no matter how much water they drank, death from dehydration.

Some thought a curse had befallen the block, the Undergallows were infamous petty thieves, and it was justice being done. The council thought otherwise, and when initial investigations proved not to stop the deaths, Yolanda joined. She ferreted out the cause soon enough. An old well had been uncovered in the commons at the center of the block, and people were drinking from it, instead of the more inconvenient water hand out points spread throughout the city. Yolanda sealed the well, and with the help of other, more knowledgeable, council members, expanded the delivery of water to the city at large, preventing such a thing from happening again. She now spends most of her days studying the old maps outriders find, searching for abandoned towns, clean springs, and young forests that Onadbyr can harvest to survive.
