Fun fact: These mimics were shaped like vulvas that bore violent rows of teeth. Given their presence deep within water without need for hiding in a particular shape, I theorize this to be the true, natural form of a mimic. This could also be a mimicry preference stemming from a prior time in its life however, so more research will need to be conducted into the nature of mimics and their adaptability (or absence of) to validate this theory.

Log

Outside

  • Head back to Sweet Rest Spa
  • Multiple signs outside from previous associates
  • Unmoved, untouched, odd
  • Illiam says "John Smith" is part of "Radiant Flame"
  • This will not be relevant to the expedition
  • Damian identifies no signs of construction on building
  • Looks like 1 continuous object
  • Building materials also not identifiable
  • No magic traces however
  • Discussion leads to ages
  • Sheeri = older than Damian, Illiam, Siltmean combined
  • Also not relevant to expedition

Inside part 1

  • Attendants inside oddly similar looking
  • Third figure arrives, escorts us to "Learning room"
  • Mentions addition of sauna and tattoo parlor at request of recent customers
  • Glass covers some of water in rooms
  • Pass pool and massage areas
  • Learning room has 1 attendant
  • Illiam requests magic books
  • Many spellbooks "generously donated"
  • Illiam takes time to learn spells from books
  • Charm, illusory disguise, lock and unseen servant provided
  • Attendant moves fluidly, unbothered by bending and unbending of knees like normal person
  • Sheeri tells people they aren't human
  • People deny as expected
  • Nothing comes of it
  • Sheeri and Damian escorted to sauna and pool respectively
  • I stay with Illiam, no luck on mechanical books though
  • Basic formulas only, I sneak away
  • Find dim room, bunk beds
  • Rest room, attendant doesn't mind us wandering without guide
  • Head to back room, find "tattoo parlor"
  • No magic tattoos, just regular
  • Also water in room anyway
  • Cannot tell me why
  • I jump in
  • Deep into water, past acidic layer
  • Something swirling
  • Attacked

Inside part 2

  • Damian relaxes in normal pool
  • Sheeri heads on to sauna
  • Sheeri dives deep
  • Hits acidic layer and is hurt
  • Resurfaces
  • Uses ice powers to cool water down
  • Attendant tells them to stop
  • Ice in the bath is against policy
  • Sheeri leaves to find others
  • Illiam rejoins Damian
  • Soon Sheeri does as well
  • Sheeri moves other water in to push into acidic layer more safely
  • Attendant asks her to leave
  • Mixing waters also against rules
  • Heating pools is not, oddly enough
  • Sheeri is asked to leave
  • Illiam has revelation
  • Acidic layer, unnatural building materials, etc.
  • All signs of a mimic
  • Not on this scale though
  • As team prepares themselves, escort from before pushes Sheeri into pool
  • Mimic attacks

Inside part 3

  • I flee from the water before the mimic can reach me
  • Glad I just built this diving suit
  • Mimic is slow on land
  • I get clean hit on it
  • Mimic badly wounded from gunshot
  • I retreat
  • Once out of sight, mimic retreats back to water
  • Sheeri, Illiam and Damian killed theirs quickly
  • Damian came to assist me
  • Sheeri began looting the shop wares
  • Illiam went to heal Sheeri
  • Damian and I chase second mimic back to pool
  • Damian gets grabbed
  • Mimic is slippery, but we kill it
  • Return to find Illiam and Sheeri attacked by third mimic
  • Escort servant convulsing on ground
  • Others attendants disappeared as mimics died
  • Mimic knocks out Sheeri
  • Tries to drag into water
  • Illiam heals Sheeri who promptly escapes grasp of mimic
  • Mimic refuses to die
  • Slippery, hard to hit
  • Dies eventually
  • Building begins collapsing
  • Illiam, naked, needs help collecting things
  • Sheeri helps Illiam
  • We all escape
  • Few acid burns, bumps from collapsing building
  • Nothing severe
