(Posting this from PC so I can just edit the log in on my phone, give me like an hour)
One month ago, a robed old man came to Desperate Hope looking for someone named "Lictor". Given my position as first Lictor of the Hellknights, I naturally assumed they were looking for me. After meeting this individual, I learned a massive Dragon named Olzryd. This dragon recently had its eggs stolen by associates, one of which claimed they were doing this for an old man named Lictor in Desperate Hope. Their theft saw several villages destroyed by the sounds of it. While I think an investigation should be done into that job and the loss of life that stemmed from it, that is not what this report is for. The man informed me the dragon would be here in a month's time, and that we should provide the eggs if we did not want to face it's wrath. He disappeared in sand afterwards, so I suspect that was the dragon giving us one month to retrieve the egg. Well apparently it was made into omelettes at the end of the affronting job, so the peaceful option wasn't going to happen.

After reporting this encounter to Grist, we quickly gathered some of our most capable associates. Normally I wouldn't be too concerned about a singular dragon, but this dragon is reportedly massive, and a self-described mountain destroyer. I'd rather not take any chances. I prepare catapults for the hellknights to man, Pomba gets his brothers to add magical artillery to the mix, Mutt expands the prison to hold any prisoners and gets a blocker built for the river. Meanwhile Grist gets people evacuated and prepares to summon a massive storm with Sahona's help, Illiam researches the true names of some dragons, and Serene scouts ahead to give us an idea of what we're dealing with. 6 dragons in total. Olzryd's massive form, 3 ancient Diabolic dragons, and 2 adult Diabolic dragons. A sizeable force to fight in-air, but Grist's ritual succeeds. A powerful storm rages for miles, making taking to the air at all a difficult task. Now a fair battle, even I didn't anticipate how simple it would be.

The great Dragon's arrival came with the demand for his eggs, which I truthfully informed him of the fate of. As expected, he was upset. Flying over our wall and coming back to ground, it was him versus us as his "allies" struggled to bound the wall and join him. By the time that they arrived, with our discovery that the rain slumped his sandy scales and left him vulnerable, we tore into him with ease. He barely had time to act before we brought him down, but even with that the Diabolics kept coming. They didn't fare much better, with Illiam and Grist causing madness and confusion among their ranks that left them incapable of fighting back. Serene and Pomba hunted down any that ran, and the last survivor, trapped in Grist's Quandry spell, was met with a vicious onslaught that brought it down. The two that got the opportunity to breathe fire upon us could only do so much, as my oaths helped protect those around me. Even Mutt's aura, instilling holy energy into anyone nearby, was another clear weakness for these poor fools. Grist's storm ended up more of a threat to Desperate Hope than the dragons, but luckily he and Sahona ended it a few hours later.

After the battle, we found how he commanded so many Diabolics with suicidal passion. An Orb of Dragonkind, a foul item made from a dragon and used to control the minds of its kin. I was told we need a Diabolic of the same lineage of the one made into this to destroy it, but I've no real idea how to determine that. I will do my best to see it destroyed, but any help others can provide will be appreciated.

Log
