So apparently we have to write something down for each of these logs? I do not fully understand the purpose of these, or how they would help if invaders were to approach the city gates, but I will play along with this custom anyways. Associates were inevitably going to be called back to the wall to fight off the rest of my former family, those heretics that still make up the rest of the Flesh-Eater clan. The one known as Amarda sent us a telepathic message to let us know they were being swarmed, although when we got there, it did not look that much like they were being swarmed. It just looked like regular activities out there. The flaming one and the green one went out to scout ahead and guage their numbers, with the green one coming back after just four hours because he was unlucky enough to be caught by the one patrol they send out every day. He was able to distract them and get away while the flaming one was flying around over the camp, and was able to get their exact numbers, and find out that there were no signs of Conquest. We decided to take out their scouting party so we didn't have to deal with them later on. They numbered 8 in total, a fair match for us if you count the tall one calling in some sort of smoky angel and some sort of skeletal dog. Some of their number managed to slip behind our front lines, which consisted of me, the armored one, and the flaming one, and managed to get the jump on the purple one, the tall one, and the green one. They proved as capable as I suspected, and every one of them fell to us. We decided to take a moment to treat our wounds before marching into the main camp, and I write this as we are doing that. I will write the rest later.

It was a long and brutal battle, but even in death, Szuriel grants us her blessings on this day. We spent plenty of time talking about strategy, but we ultimately decided to just go  right to the front gate. Quick and bloody, just how I like it. We rushed the gate, with the purple one and the tall one using scrolls to prepare and summoning various undead creatures, a massive skeleton and some sort of white hunter. The battle to seize the gate had us fighting 3 mountain oni, 2 caldera oni, and a single onidoshi, all capable fighters, but they were no match for us, even though I took some particularly dangerous wounds. While this fight was going on, we noticed one of the caldera oni giving a warning to Chief Tsuyoi in his tent, who we then noticed entering the center of the camp with a daemon in chains, an obcisidaemon as the purple one identified it. It claimed the soul of Shuchu, a fine warrior in his own right, at the command of Tsuyoi. I never knew him as the type to sacrifice his own warriors to such a beast, perhaps Man Slayer has changed him in ways that I would not expect, including his mind being unchanged by fear even while his body trembled. The daemon and Tsuyoi put up a good fight, but in the end, both of them succumbed to us, with the flaming one claiming the finishing blow against both. As much as I would have greatly enjoyed a duel with the heretic chieftain, I am satisfied with this outcome. I formed this alliance with the associates to see Man-Slayer dead, and that includes outcomes like this. I will settle for making a meal of Tsuyoi's flesh, and claiming his sword as a trophy. This was a humbling battle indeed.

Part 2
