Log

There I was minding my own business when I came across a flyer for a peculiar job for associates in the city. A giant lizard, a failed clone of a clam, has been rampaging through Onadbyr, causing needless destruction upon the city, and tremendous amounts of stress to the innocent civilians. I checked my schedule, just to make sure it is clear, and head my way towards the meeting place Orion has designated.

I keep my eye out for any signs of the rampaging reptile. The occasional footprint is the only obvious clue in sight. I had no time to investigate closer, I was in a rush to get to Orion and meet up with the rest of my potential team.

The team gathered, and to my surprise I was nearly the first one there. Orion explained more in depth that we were now in charge of finding this Clam Clone, a legendary associate I am now just learning of. During a recent ritual, something went wrong, and now we must find them before they cause too much destruction. The team talked around and tried to form a plan. One of us suggested getting a crate to put the reckless clone in when we capture them. I suggest, since Clam liked clams, that perhaps we should bait this trap with the shellfish of said name.

We went out of the house and saw two sets of tracks, one that veered to the north west of the city, and one towards the north east. I examined both sets of footprints and determined the ones that lead towards the eastern side of the city were the most recent ones. We began to follow a set of footprints that merged into two sets of footprints leading down towards the shore and Pettyport. We leave the gates and see the sets diverge off, one toward the north, and one towards the south, closer to Pettyport. We checked out the closer set of tracks to the north and saw them quickly come to and end by the waters. We turned back and followed the other set of tracks, leading closer to the Pettyport district.

This set of tracks led to a docked, ghostly ship, one crewed with a smaller Clam, and another associate, Miles. We asked him if they saw Clam around. He confirmed with us that Clam was there recently and that they went to their underwater cave. The more athletic team members followed Miles underwater to Clam’s abode. They had a short conversation, confirming that the non-clone Clam was sitting in there, feasting upon their favorite shellfish. Our conversation was interrupted when another figure was seen leaving the water, near the footprints we saw at the northern shore.

We chased Clone Clam through Onadbyr, eventually catching up with them. Fragile grabbed them by the wrist to slow them down. We tried to come to a peaceful solution with Clam, suggesting that perhaps they should challenge Orion to an arm wrestle. We suggest if Clam wins, then Orion would be humiliated forever, which is worse than killing him, but if Orion wins, then he would be able to walk away unharmed, and Clone Clam would stop trying to kill Orion. Clone Clam reluctantly agreed, saying that they can’t wait to “Pound Orion”.

We approach Orion’s house, asking how he feels about being “pounded” neglecting to explain that by being “pounded” we mean in arm wrestling competition. Orion was very reluctant, until Clone Clam showed up and we clarified what the competition was to Orion. He finally agreed to the competition and approached the clone.

The competition was drawn out. Clone Clam took an early lead, taking Orion by surprise with their strength. Orion fought back, holding off an early defeat. The competition went on for minutes, until Clone Clam’s arm finally gave out. Orion was the champion, but everything still wasn’t sorted out. Clone Clam still hated Orion but also felt very humiliated for losing against “The Twink.” Orion offered one free punch to the face in return, if Clone Clam agreed everything would be even between the two. There was no pause in Orion completing that proposition, and the strongest punch I even saw, straight to that poor man’s face. With everything resolved, we bring Clone Clam to their new home.
