Our group left Onadbyr and things were quiet until we got into the vicinity of the bandit fortress. We scouted out the area and made our plan- We would approach from the front to try and gain entrance. If that failed, I would cast Helpful Steps to allow our group entry. We approach and the bandit quickly turn defensive, retreating into their fortress. We immediately move to our secondary plan and enter the fortress by climbing over the gate. A number of Vordine and other lesser fiends surrounded our group as we were finally in sight of the Hellmouth, though they can still only demand our surrender due to the conditions I called for when I had to agree to open the Hellmouth. After clearing out most of the non-devil forces, we finally began to clear out the forces that came from the Hellmouth and attacked the Hellmouth itself. We had to fight off quite a few devils summoned by the Hellmouth to defend it, but eventually we were able to overcome it and its forces to close it. I'm glad that this is finally behind us. Hopefully, [[Bodrukk Ninelives|Bodrukk]]'s heart issues will settle now that he won't be worrying about whether someone else will close the Hellmouth without our knowledge and I'll pass without warning. | |||

Associates set out to help Fen close the final Hellmouth.

Bodrukk was rather unhappy that I had to go on one final mission, but the Hellmouth that was opened in order to save Lictor Mutt has remained a persistent issue in the region and unless I take care of the problem personally, I will be killed when the Hellmouth is destroyed. It took quite a bit of convincing to get him to remain at Grandmother's House with the little ones, but it was for the better. If I fall, the children will still have someone to care for them.
