Onadbyr
The town of Onadbyr was built during the last Cycle as a port town of industry. It was built along The Ripper - a dangerous fast moving current that gushed into the ocean with considerable force, the river floor coated in debris that could pierce, tear, and shred anything caught in its destructive flow.
Following The Collapse the town lay mostly abandoned - inhabited by only a few survivalists and nomads until 7 years ago when a large group of migrants chose the relative safety of the walls to settle down. They initially sectioned off the Laybarons where a government was established, and within the year had cleaned out the entirety of the Laybarons - which now served as the administrative district, the Trimarket - which became the center of commerce, and the majority of Ripgate and Markmuse Square, where once derelict stone houses were repurposed for new families.
The town now holds 1200 people in this half of the inner walls, with a small population also living in the unpatroled and uncleared districts of Little Monarch, Upper Sacks, Lower Sacks, and Pettyport. While these areas aren’t openly dangerous to the new town of Onadbyr, it’s unknown what illicit activity or dangerous creatures remain locked away in its abandoned buildings. The barracks for the town guard has been established in Markmuse Square, against the walls of the Lushgarden Citadel, to keep watch over the streets. The bridge directly neighboring it being the only way to cross The Ripper in this area.
The final district and former manor of Onadbyr lays behind its own set of walls. The river entrances are held by a metal lattice grate and the gates leading into the former splendor have been barred - and seemingly welded - shut. A number of expeditions by the daring and brave have been made to scale the walls and investigate the interior. None have returned. The inside of the manor district is wildly overgrown with many plants some of which not native to this region and fish small enough to travel through the metal grates don’t emerge from the other side. It has been given the moniker of Lushgarden Citadel, and the government have warned the populace to not attempt to scale the walls or enter the district under any circumstances.
Pettyport serves as another hub of activity, much smaller than the interior of Onadbyr - those that live in Pettyport consider themselves a separate village than a district of the town itself. About 150 people live in the region outside the walls of Onadbyr and serve as the main artery for trade and travel to the south.
