So Mutt, big scary hellknight, right? Apparently she went missing, so we hurried to find her. Being the best tracker in Onadbyr, of course I picked up on the trail quickly. We found a ring on the ground, and after taste-testing I confirmed it was Mutt's blood combined with gnoll blood. There was a fight here, and it continued deeper into the forest. We followed the trail, including what looked like a large, heavy object being dragged through the woods, to a rocky outcropping. Dwarf lady spots traps in the path, pitfalls to be clear. No spikes, wider at the bottom, different sizes, definitely meant for capturing rather than killing. We went around them and followed the trail to a dead end at a wall. Fen saw through the illusion, and we headed in.
The flower and Fen were a bit too bright though, so the gnolls we heard talking downstairs saw us coming. We fought in some sorta ancient structure, with Mutt laying on an altar nearby. I threw up a wall of thorns to divide our enemies, and spotted an imp hiding invisibly during the fight. Near the end when we'd killed most of them (except one flower girl knocked out) I said the imp was hiding near the gnoll mage, and the mage turned and killed it before surrendering. She gave us a key to the next room over, telling us the gnolls were conquered by Lamashtu worshippers that killed their leaders. The worshippers were in the next room over with more captives, so all of us (including Mutt) headed in to save them.
Inside, there were a bunch of goopy devils, a couple of imps, and some people being forced to work under really bad conditions. One lady was even shoveling hot coal with her bare hands! We beat up all the goops and I think someone killed the imps? Me and dwarf lady saved an old dwarf guy from a bunch of flaming cats someone let out after us, while the others talked to a really big scary devil trapped in a pool. Dunno what it was, but it really wanted us to let it out. Turned out the Mutt was fake and Victoria killed whatever that doppelganger thing was. We went and got the real Mutt back, if in bad condition. It just took a bit more effort than planned.
