We Associates were sent to investigate and subdue a nearby Necromancer. Instructions were given to take the mage alive, but if the goal was deemed impossible then the party was to kill him.
We spent 2 days traveling to the cave where reports stated he was secluding himself. No presence of undead noted outside.
Upon entering the goblin snuck off, the rest of the party proceeded forward and engaged with a small group of undead brutes, husk zombies and a harpy skeleton. All Associates performed as expected. Upon completion of the encounter, the party used a nearby alcove to rest and recover. No religious iconography or wards noted. Undead appeared to be well made and well maintained.
Exiting the alcove, the goblin scouted ahead. After 20 minutes of no further response the remainder of the group proceeded forward where we encounter a sulfur zombie and two zombie owlbears. As noted above, all three appeared to be well made and well maintained. Zombie owlbears utilized high pitched screams with their large size to engage with party. Sulfur zombie displayed ability to blind nearby targets with its fists. Upon destruction of the body, the sulfur zombie exploded outward resulting in heavy damage to nearby Associates. All Associates performed as expected.
Due to limited supplies and resources, Associates concluded more time would be needed and party retreated.
