The morning was bright and shining; A polar opposite to the damp, murky depths we would soon plunge ourselves into. Parmi, a cousin of mine, had put forth a request for the help of some associates. Monsters in the cave, endangering her and her family. We could collect mudvines while we were there, something the apothecary lady...Isabella, I believe her name was? It was what she was really after. The safety of an innocent Nyketera was second to the wheels of industry. To my admitted surprise, a solid team had gathered with their focus being on helping Parmi. We cleared out the monsters, of which blood sucking, poison, and a swarm were involved. Sain suffered a grievous injury laced with poison, but our more medically-inclined were able to save him from the poison, and the water in his boots too.
The group met Parmi, gathering around to enjoy some of her tea. Tea I knew all-too-well, and avoided to the best of my ability by not letting Parmi know I was there. While the rest of the group went out to handle the mold situation, I gathered the mudvines. Greeted the family of course, it would be rude not to, and then moved on. While I returned to the group burning the mold and nearly killing themselves and Parmi, I took note of their violent tendencies. Do-gooders with a bad streak. Dangerous business. In my intricate notetaking I let my guard down and was spotted by Parmi, who naturally greeted me and invited me back for tea and conversation. The questionable taste of her mind-cooked tea aside, it was...good to meet someone else from the First World. Didn't seem like she heard the same call I did. Good for her.
On our way out, the light of the outside felt colder than the darkness behind us. Leaving family behind was never easy, but there's always work to be done. I promised to visit again soon, and to investigate those that promised to visit, but never did. Isabella got her mudvines, we got paid, and I got a new mystery to solve. Back to work, then.
