Amin recently noticed a large object in the sky, moving across the land. It brought with it storms and chaos, and Amin wished to study it. He was willing to pay for our party to check it out and find out what it is precisely, so he could devise a way to reach it.
The party headed south west toward the lands where the mysterious object was spotted. As we journeyed on, the rain began to fall harder and harder. Two of our party members decided to risk their life for some reason to play “Dodge the Lightning”, instead of taking the sensible option of taking their time to prevent lightning strikes. This reckless behavior hurt Kirrily with a direct lightning strike and it almost hurt Shadefrost as a result. You would think this would have served a warning to be more careful, but Carrion refused to take caution. He too was struck directly by a bolt of lightning. This struck sense into both Carrion and Kirrily, they took a little more caution as we made our way to the destination.
We reached our destination and parted ways with Amin. We saw a large figure in the distance, along with six other figures nearby. We stepped forward and prepared for a rough combat. I buffed the party with a casting of haste.I was only able to get everyone within the spell’s range by enlarging myself. Kirrily and Shadefrost moved into a more advantageous position. Shadefrost drew first blood against the giant figure in the middle of our battlefield. The giant retaliated by throwing a rock at the wrong target, Kirrily. The storm elemental creature advanced toward us and targeted myself. Carrion took position next to the cloud creature and knocked it to the ground. Meanwhile, three storm hags gathered their powers together, They released three bolts of lightning towards myself and Carrion. I was unable to get into position to deal with the lightning wielders, but I was able to help with the prone air elemental. I hit it with a mighty blow and drained their life essence to heal me. Kirrily charged towards the giant and swung towards it recklessly. From behind me, the elemental appeared and tried to target Shadefrost. They were ineffective at dispatching my ally. In return , Shadefrost took out the elemental in a single shot.
On the other side of the battlefield, the giant took Kirrily out with two strikes. Carrier had no way to help Kirrily out. He instead focused attention on taking out the giant. This had the additional benefit of distracting the coven of storm hags. I charged forward and was able to heal Kirrily up a little. Shadefrost and Carrion tried to take out the giant. They were unable to finish them off, but I was able to take the killing blow. Only one storm elemental and a coven worth of storm hags remained on the battlefield. The storm hags seemed to be the biggest threats with their spellcasting strengthening each other. Carrion and Kirrily charged forward towards the hags. They traded blows with each other.
We thought we were almost done with the fight, when a dragon and two tornadoes came down from the sky. Kirrily seemed to have bad luck that day, they were targeted right away by one of the tornadoes. This knocked out Kirrily for the second time in this fight. I did my best to heal them up, but it wasn’t looking too well for them. The dragon advanced forward. The very presence of the dragon affected the rest of my party members. Kirrily seemed shaken with fear to their very core. The hags began to retreat. I took the moment to kill one of them. The dragon was tricked by the hags into thinking they were just normal kind old ladies. The dragon ordered the tornadoes to kill me. Shadefrost stepped in and killed another hag to pull one of the tornadoes away from me. They continued to hunt down the last remaining hag while they kited one of the tornadoes. Kirrily didn’t know when to give up. They charged ahead and faced off against one of the tornadoes. They almost died while they stood their ground. I knew the worst was coming and I prepared for it. I healed myself and faced off against the dragon.
The dragon wrapped me up in their tail. It was looking bad for us. This could lead to our deaths. Carrion did their best to attack the dragon, but it wasn’t looking good. They barely did any damage against the dragon. Kirrily was knocked down once more, Carrion was knocked down to the ground. It was either my life or their lives. If I were to die in battle, at least my dear wife will live on. I chose to heal my two downed allies up instead of myself. The dragon took me out.
I awoke to Kirrily returning the favor. They brought me back to consciousness. Shadefrost killed the Tornado that flanked me. We had a chance to survive this fight. I stood up and attempted to heal myself, but the screams of the war council caused me to fail in casting the spell. I had to stand my ground. I swung my scythe and I missed. I was knocked unconscious once again. Carrion brought me back to my feet with another potion. I had to retreat, the screams of the war council once again prevented me from healing. Carrion was knocked down by the remaining tornado. I was finally able to overcome the battle cries that scream within my head. I healed Carrion, they stood up and faced down the raging winds. The dynamic duo of Carrion and Kirrily killed the living winds. Meanwhile Shadefrost used the power of fire to take down the dragon’s defenses. This was my chance to redeem myself. I focused all of my strength into one final strike. I slammed the dragon’s corpse into the ground. We won.
