Log

We were tasked with looking into some buildings in Little Monarch, opposite of the Ashenforge Clan guild hall. We started at the Butcher Shop, to check out the symbols. We identified the symbols as runic symbols, although the butcher's shop did not have many of them, as they were in secret places. The symbols did not have magic powering them.

We then looked into the other buildings, checking for more secret signs, and upright, intact buildings to investigate. We found the secret signs on errant bricks, and chunks of stone, evenly spread. They aren't in the makeup of buildings, instead they are strewn about. Some of them face inward oddly, and have been purposefully hidden. Grist found a hidden tunnel in a wardrobe that leads to the second level of a building that seems that it has been used recently.

We found two more bricks, as only bricks have survived the cataclysm, so any other symbols have been lost. We attempted to climb the rope, but it snapped the pipe and broke. Voml and Grist went to get a ladder to climb it while Bodrukk and Serene found a vagrant camp of 2 bedrolls. Voml spotted a hooded figure watching Bodrukk and Serene, who went North. The party reunited and climbed up the secret tunnel. Someone has been watching the Ashenforge Clan Guildhall from here. Then someone started tossing stones up.

Serene jumped down and landed on a halfling, who was apparently trying to get our attention. Serene yelled at them, and it worked. The halfling talked about Melty, who apparently owns this block. We got Melty's symbol, which was a hidden symbol we didn't recognize. The halfling said that Melty stole her stuffed teddy bear, and wants us to get it back for her. She led us to the warehouse, which is Melty's base. It is well boarded up, and the only way through is the main door. We knocked on the front door and they were clearly drinking.

We asked them about secret passages, noticed that they had a mark of the unknown cult in their base, so they started a fight. We let about half of them go, but the Ashenforge members killed the other half, as they had drawn weapons, and were declaring war on us. We found the halflings bear, and Melty joined the fight. After Grist attacked her, she exploded in anger, summoning four fire whisps. We dealt with the wisps, and knocked Melty out.

The halfling wanted to take Melty, but she wasn't able to convince us that she could keep the dwarves safe from Melty. So we decided to bring Melty in, but we did give her back her bear. We then went outside and learned that the halfling had strung up one of the gangsters we let go free, and was using him as a mouth piece to call out for help. Probably as a message to us. She also called the round table council tyrants. Only fools oppose the council, and she will soon show us how much of a fool she is.

In addition to bringing Melty to the council, we brought back a crate of silvery straw that had been marked with the occult symbol we were tracking. None of us were able to identify it at the scene.
