Associates attempt a common, simple, social encounter.
Log
I'm not entirely certain that such an event requires a log be reported as the entire ordeal seemed highly personal and, in some cases, downright embarrassing. Words were exchanged, couples were paired together, and I'm not getting any younger. Everybody was chatting at the same time, so my account will only be of my impressions of the others. For the reader's convenience, I've ranked the participants.
Special mention to the staff. The scenery was sparse at best, food was entirely absent, and I doubt that even drinks would be served had I not gone out of my way to request them.
8 - Warden of Desperate Hope, Hellknight Armiger Victoria. This individual arrived in full armor as if they were expecting the social to erupt into a brawl. Considering the current conflict with the Oni encampment, surely their time would be better spent not wasting ours.
7 - Aleth. Perhaps it was because I have not built up any rapport with them previously, but this elf took zero initiative in our conversation. For an event based on the premise of meeting new people, it was a challenge to get to know this Aleth.
6 - Serene. I must preface this once again making my appreciation of her deeds known, but the act of holding a conversation with her proved difficult. She has a general sense of disinterest in her tone, and, immediately following our conversation, she assaulted Lazarus.
5 - Takamono. Finally, an associate who attempted to dress well, attempted to speak well, and seemed well enough educated to hold a decent conversation. Unfortunately, he was beset with a apprehension to actually connect with others almost certainly due to his very recent arrival to Onadbyr. Perhaps by the next event, he'll feel more comfortable.
4 - Lazarus. Despite his best efforts to rile up every other guest at the event, he managed to achieve what so few at this event could. He was engaging to chat with. That said, I fear for his safety should this continue to be his approach to making friends.
3 - Amani. The use of props to some would seem a gimmick in an event such as this, but I can not deny it's effectiveness in sparking conversation. I speak of course of the automaton Samir. It makes for such an intriguing companion, whether or not the claims of it's sentience and/or desire to go on a date are genuine.
2 - Myself, Miss Amber May. The gold standard.
1 - Pomba. This grippli was full of surprises, and I must make note of results as well. He had won the most interest from all of the guests at the end of the event, and, while I do believe I was better spoken, I understand that for this particular jury of peers he is the obvious choice. Authentic, outgoing, and incredibly green.
