Syunmu (SHOON-MOO) is a flashy wandering Monk with a bold fashion style, and an Associate of the Round Table.

Born in the southeastern regions of the Old Country, Syunmu belongs to the Yamanobu (YAH-MAH-NOH-BOO) clan of Mountain Oni, who led a relatively quiet and isolated life up until the drought, famine and subsequent civil war around two decades ago (as of Summer 232). After the heavy losses all around the country, many settlements rose from a need of community and survival. The Yamanobu territory became the town of Starlit Ridge a decade after the drought, and it became a melting pot between Oni clans, Kitsune folk and various other populations (mostly Humans).

Starlit Ridge started to show signs of a second famine, and with rising tensions from the multiple groups inhabiting the town, her teacher sent her on a pilgrimage to the wider world. In order to "understand the balance between good and evil, and the true meaning of cooperation", she begrudgingly agreed and followed instructions until she took the portal to Lancaster.

Before Onadbyr

Syunmu was born to a Human mother and an Oni father within Yamanobu territory. They were said to have met after a different Oni clan razed the human's village, and the Yamanobu sifted through what they found remaining. For safety's sake, the human joined the clan and eventually fell in love with an oni man.

She struggled to fit with the other children somewhat, as being a Hungerseed and not a proper Oni brought upon visible differences, most notably her skin tone and her vestigial third eye, contrasted with the others' functional third eyes. She was also known for her appetite, despite lacking in height she ate the same as other kids twice her height. When it came to the drought and famine during her childhood, her mother forewent her own meals to ensure Syunmu grew up correctly, which led to illness and eventually her death.

As the civil war led to minimal losses for the Yamanobu clan, Syunmu survived with no lasting traumas beyond the famine itself. However, the sudden influx of refugees and the founding of Starlit Ridge brought a lot of new people into her life, as her clan had inherent authority over the settlement due to it being built in their territory. Despite this, she didn't grow up with any privileges over the other refugees; in fact, the sudden clash of cultures and identities led to her struggle to connect with others.

Around when she was 14, the youth of Starlit Ridge began to fight over ideals, as the adults they're supposed to rely on were more concerned over political and community issues. With this neglect, multiple gangs and groups rose within the city. Not fitting among Oni, Humans nor Kitsune, she joined the gang known as the Wildflowers[2]. It was within this group that she achieved her unique fashion style, unusual speech patterns, and her "Piggy" nickname for her appetite and tusks.

The different groups of Starlit Ridge often got into fights, which led Syunmu to earn a reputation as a problem child, as she was the one to jump into a brawl first for her Wildflowers. Such conflicts were often paradoxical for them, as the motto of the Wildflowers was "we share a world, no matter who you are". This group had members from all sorts of heritages and ancestries, with a Kitsune leader and no gender exclusivity (despite the majority being women).

Her father, seeing what became of his daughter's reputation, made her train under a wandering Monk (possibly from the Baekho order?) with the aim to put some discipline into her life. Instead, she learned how to get into scuffles safer and hit where it hurts. Of course, she respects her teacher and what she's learned, but her heart isn't quite in the right spot all the time. This is where she learned her Tiger stance, and learned how to properly use her Qi using a specific breathing technique[3] and training routine.

With rising tensions in the horizon, the presence of War in the region, and a second famine rearing its head for the settlement, her teacher sent her away on a pilgrimage to better understand the philosophy behind their martial arts. She left Starlit Ridge during late Summer 232, en route to Lancaster via the portal opened recently[4]. She does not know what will happen to her home, but she has faith in her teacher and friends to do what's right.
