The Palace Infiltration

  • Head into the palace over the walls
  • Gave Gecko Gloves to Victoria and Sheeri
  • Armor to Miles
  • Traverse the darkness with Sheeri's light spells
  • Shadowy orb-like creature named "Beto-Beto" approaches us
  • Offers to escort us through palace
  • Decline via Sheeri scaring it off with a light spell
  • Note: Beto-Beto's presence is unsettling
  • As of time of writing creature is still alive, sticking to darkness
  • Keep moving
  • Boat? On swampy water
  • Sheeri, Victoria and Pomba head in
  • I watch the door
  • Clam and Miles check surrounding area, keep Beto-Beto at bay
  • Sheeri, Victoria, Pomba encounter new creature inside
  • Tiny, one-eyed creature made of muscle and metal blades, ball-shaped
  • Upon approach, it rushes forward to cut them with its body
  • Team kills it quickly
  • Sheeri identifies creature as an "Augur", type of Velstrac fiend
  • Name comes from minor visionary powers?
  • Everyone heads further in

An Unhealthy Obsession With Pain

  • Move past ransacked room
  • Hear language I recognize, can't hear words properly
  • I sneak up using camouflage, Clam and Miles explore other rooms
  • Rest head up to door, meet blue people with chains and piercing all about
  • Based on appearances and dark area, surmised language was Sakvroth, language of those who dwell in the Darklands
  • Victoria recognizes symbols in room as symbols of Zon-Kuthon
  • The men seem obsessed with pain in general
  • Hear them speak in Sakvroth of a "Boss" and choosing not to tell them about us yet
  • Victoria seemingly befriends them
  • Goes to talk about pain
  • Clam and Miles join group
  • One asks Sheeri to turn off lights, makes them uncomfortable
  • Denied for obvious reasons
  • Men identified as "Evangelists", another type of Velstrac fiend
  • Want to lead us to their "benefactors"
  • Group heads to meet them
  • I stay hidden and follow behind
  • One tries to convince Victoria to stay behind
  • For their own safety
  • Victoria denies
  • We go to deeper room
  • Large audience area in open light
  • No outright weakness to light from looks of it
  • Just natural displeasure?
  • As we enter Evangelist tells giant spike-adorned man we're intruders in Sakvroth
  • Fight breaks out
  • Massive fiend casts a couple of spells and leaves further into the building
  • Face several Evangelists and pierced creatures
  • Both seem to heal if not struck by silver, based on keen blows of our monks
  • Pierced creatures can impose a confusing darkness
  • Chaotic battle
  • Struggle but come out the victors
  • Take some equipment from area, including large sword that seems to scream at presence of undead
  • Not particularly of use in Lancaster
  • Silvered blade may be of much bigger use, however
  • Nobody here particularly inclined toward the weapon
  • Looks like it's my responsibility to put it to use
  • Just until we finish this job
