An excerpt from Houzen's memoirs.

Autumn 233, Xth day of the Xth month

I swear my ears will be ringing for weeks, or even worse, I'll be humming that fiends tune. But I am getting ahead of myself; Our last adventure has us return to the dreamscape to study the area some more and see if we can hopefully find a way to lift the curse and free the spirits. Although calling it a curse may not be the most accurate description. The associates summoned were Raiya, Theo, Moz, Husk, Bal, and myself. 20 days to and back. We arrived at the location and I guided the ground through the darkness door from last time.

When we arrived inside the dream, things were quiet. The only new things were the strange metal wisps flying around a very feint music. I showed them how to astral project and we got some info from the sleeping spirit people. They told us that the music, which had gotten louder, has been going on for what felt like months. Well what kind of associates would we be if we just left these poor spirits to their fate? Crap ones, so we decided go take care of the issue. We left town, following the music which continued to get louder and more ominous. Eventually we were ambushed by hat some strange metal sprite fiends and a little freak thing. Didn't get a good look at the latter but those little flying fiends were pretty annoying. But we eventually took care of them. This was all while the music was starting to take a toll on all of our psyches. Regardless, we had to push on.

We knew we were close, we just needed to climb up a steep cliff side. Bal went first and immediately found the source of our conundrum. A fiend, at the end of what I can only describe as a cosmic river, was conducting the music with magic. At least I think it was magic. He was joined by two snake demons that were admittedly pretty tough. The conductor was luckily weak to holy and silver which gave Moz, Theo, and myself an edge. We just needed to corner them, which was no easy task. The conductor used magical music to alter our minds and cause mental damage, as well as sonic screams. The snakes could spit mental poison, don't ask me how that works. It was a daring battle but thanks to the coordinated protection of Husk and Bal, the rest of us managed to corner and take out our foes. Once we cornered the conductor, he had a few more tricks up his sleeve but we powered through and managed to defeat the fiend.

With the conductor's death, the music finally came to an end. We wrapped up the remaining snake and returned to inform the spirit villagers of our success. We swiftly returned home. I must say, this was a nice change of pace after what happened at that samurai shrine. I still get chills from that. But no matter, for time is now and "Stone-Fist" must look forward.
